i really want some gold rims for my baby, but the ones on ebay and at les schwab arent nearly as cool as regular sti rims. should i start searching nasioc classifieds, or will the rims even fit? if not, is there anything comparable you can think of?

04 STi will fit - they're 5x100

05 STi onwards won't fit - they're 5x114.3
Also the new WRX TR is 5x114.3 and maybe also the 06 WRX.

So it depends on which year you pick from.

They also run a different tire profile to the BD, which may play havoc and cause tramlining problems that many GC owners experience when they fit later model wheels.

As Huffer said, only the '04 STi wheels will fit due to the bolt pattern. I test fit a set on my car for a week for fun and there was no rubbing issues with 215/45/17 tires. Anything wider would rub.

Here's a pic:

:D thats me being green with envy. i think those wheels look awesome and now that i have actually seen them on a silver car like mine... i know i want them. what do u mean "They also run a different tire profile to the BD, which may play havoc and cause tramlining problems that many GC owners experience when they fit later model wheels." i understand the tire is different but i thought the only thing that would be messed up is the speedo or odometer. and cant those be recalibrated anyway? not sure waht BD and GC mean... sry lol. can u help me understand? ty

BD is the vin code for a 95-99 Legacy sedan, GC is the code for 93-01 Impreza's. The wider tires and lower profiles may not match up with what the ecu is calibrated to (on BD GT's running a 205/55/R16 tire as opposed to something crazy. The 215/45/R17's will fit and work fine, and match up with the same tire height that the systems calibrated with, so you shouldn't see too much of a difference in the speedo. But like they said, you can only fit the 2004 STI tires, so be weary of STI take-off classified ads. I think they look amazing as well, much better than the stock GT wheels, although I'd take those over the 02-04 WRX wheels!

tramlining is a tendency for the wheels to follow cracks in the road, rather than ride OVER them.

When you upgrade from stock all-seasons to high performance tires, this can also happen.
