I've been searching for rims a bit and ROTA is a name that seems to come up often. I'm not very familiar with rims, but they have some nice looking ones and they aren't all that expensive. They also seem to be popular a bit with Subies and wondered if anyone has any opinions or experience with them? :smt023

incredible bang for the buck, good styling, and some prodrive rip offs. i *heart* the rota SDRs aka PF7

Basically ROTA rips off everyone's design so you're getting simular Prodrive/OZ Racing/BBS/RAYS.... wheels at almost 1/2 the price with reasonablely good quality. Nothing wrong with them at all.

i love that methodology. so what if they are slighty heavier? LOOK WHAT I DRIVE! works for me.

Sounds like the best of both worlds to me!

One problem is they don't seem to make them in the same size as the stock rims. I'd have to go to 17" x 7.5 minimum. I know that there are other threads on this site for sizes, so I'll have to read some of them to see if these would fit.

I'm especially interested in their G-Force in Gun Metal!

Or Torque. Although this one only appears to be in 17" x 8.

Go with the first one.

I don't believe that you should have any issues with them as long as your car isn't lowered, and you keep the stock over all diameter.

Run a 215/45/17 on that 7.5 wheel and you'll be fine. Rota made the wheels for the newer 02+ cars, thus the larger wheel widths.

I like the Rota formels personally ;) but as everyone has said, they are great bang for the buck. They are a bit heavy, but they are strong, and look good :). We are a master distributor for rota, we can get really any finish you want. I dunno if it'd be worth it though, as I dunno what shipping would be to Canada from here.

There's guy local to me in Ottawa selling these for $650 Canadian. They probably won't last long.

Rota tarmac2 wheels(group a)Gun metal

Offset: 48mm
Hub bore: 56.1 mm
bolt pattern : 5/100

Here's the link. I am "Legacy" on the board. I've met him a few times and he's a decent guy, I can always help you out if you need some kind of go-between.

i had the Rota Torque on my old WRX... they were great for that car, although i think they may be overkill and tad too wide for your car. But i never had any problems with them and that is the wheel of choice for WRX owners on a limited budget. check out SubyDude.com, he has some great wheel/tire packages for great prices. good luck and post up some pix when you get them mounted.

I :smt049 the G-Force!

Sadly, like the Torque it seems next to impossible to get them in 17x7.5, let me know if you find anywhere that can get hold of them!

I was going to order a set of G-Forces in 17x7.5 when they first came to the states, but I was told by Subydude that they weren't ordering any of that size because there was no demand for'em. They said I could order the 17x8 and JUST roll my fenders...they weren't too helpful in wanting to pay for the fender rolling though.

Those are wicked nice! :smt007 and perfect! I wish I had the money to spend right now! Thanks for the link.

I'm surprised he wants $650 for them second hand, but if he can get it then power to him! Supply and Demand! If you see any more come closer to summer let me know!

G-Forces look great on wagons. If you ran 215 or narrow 225 on them, it would have a touch of that stretched look, but you'd probaby be OK on stock suspension. Might hav eot yank the rubber strip in back. I'm slammed, and my front fenders are still stock, and I wouldn't have had to roll with a narrow 225 like a Falken 512 or 912.

I'm biased, btw :D

I've owned a few other sets of Rota's in my past. Never any issue and most saw hard abuse.

I have the Tarmac II's in gold - like the rims very much. Fairly light, durable, strong, and look great. Great rims IMO.

I truely regret selling my Torques, but hey, life is full of that.

Ive hit potholes on the PA Pike at 95+, running 45psi in my ContiExtremeContacts, with no ill effects.
