Looking pretty sweet ma! Love the painted morettes, where did you get that done? ...or did you do it yourself? The V5 spoiler will look great on your car. Props for the best lit Leg on the site, HOPEFULLY this summer I'll be getting my set from Daniel Stern as well, you'll have to key me in to the wiring to get everythign to work right...maybe if I get some fogs as well...seeing everything lit up must put out some crazy light at night. Any thoughts of going HID? I'm sure he could find you a ballast kit that would fit up perfectly with those morettes if you're up for more wiring! Keep up the great work! Hopefully my car will look like yours one day!

masube81
05-13-2005, 12:38 PM
Sure, when you get your morettes, just let me know so I can help you with the installation, if it helps, I can even take pictures of the wiring to show how I did everything. I'm not going to get HIDs anymore cause Daniel's lightening that comes with the morettes are already bright enough already. Yeah I painted the morettes myself. I'm pretty sure you can do it yourself too, all you have to do is take out the lamps so the cover is by itself and spray paint the cover. Thanks for all the motivation, maybe I'll get more stuff for my car soon.

^^^^
For the paint, I just went to walmart and got a 24k gold color paint. I already posted some pics in here showing how I started everything so maybe that will help you more. I would say it's really easy considering it's my first time doing it too. The only thing that took forever is waiting for the primer, paint and clear coat to get dry. The things you will need to paint your rims are:

- some kind of newspaper to tape or cover around your tires if the rims are still on the tires.
- a role of duck tape.
- Few of 400 or 500 grip of sand paper.
- 2 cans of Primer.
- About 3-4 Walmark 25k gold paint cans.
- 2 cans of clear.

If you still have any question just ask me again.

Pwise2326
01-20-2006, 02:54 AM
Ma, I'm real impressed, you have never let me down with your car! You're going to be hearing from me real soon about installing those foglamps, finally got a set of my own! How was installing the V5 spoiler? Where did you get it and how much did it end up costing? That looks SOOO sexy. MUUCH better than the C-west looking thing you had. Where did you get the clear sidemarkers? I've been looking all over for them, I just missed a set on ebay 2 weeks ago for 30 bucks with 10 bucks shipping....arrgg!! I had to work and missed the bid by a couple bucks. Some JDM tails and I think you are all set for your exterior...whens the JDM V8 w/twinscroll swap going in? lol

Let me know if you need help with the sidemarker install, its real easy, just get yourself some extra wire, a soldering iron, electrical tape, the black plastic wire protector (dont know actual name..), some vampire clips and zip ties. Takes maybe half an hour if you have a large clumsy soldering iron like me. Just pop out that fender trim insert and loosen enough pop rivets in the wheel well splash guard to pull it aside and get access on the edge of the wheel well, and remove your morettes to splice into the turnsignal/parking lamp wires. You splice into the parking lamp hot wire and the turn signal wire (unfortunately I forget colors, the haynes manual will have them listed), mostlikely red for the hot parking lamp wire and green w/white stripes for the turn signal on one side, red with white stripes for the other. When your turn signal is off and the parking lamp is on the sidemarkers will be constantly lit. when the turn signal is turned on, the power sent through the wire will turn off the sidemarker so it breaks the ground, which will give you an opposite flash to your turn signals. If you don't want the constant on with the parking lamps you can just wire them to the turn signal and ground wire so it will flash with the turn signals. I think the constant on of the side repeater looks sexy though. However, when your parking lamps are off the sidemarkers still flash with the turn signals, so its a 50/50 split.

I love the way it looks, I was in two minds on a high level rear spoiler, but now I know it looks right, I think I'm just going to have to bite the bullet.

As for the clear side markers, please tell me where you found them.

Finally, in one of the pics your front fenders look a lot wider than mine, have you had them flared? or just the way the light is hitting them? Any chance of some side views?

badbasser98

They are usually very hard to find, although they pop up on Ebay every now and then... there was a set up a few days ago. Check there offten and prepare to spend  .

Happy hunting!

The fogs are way too big for our usdm. What I had to do was cut my bumper a little to get it to fit. If you're really interested in finding out how to install it, search through this forum because I know we had a thread on how to install jdm fogs to our usdm.

I love the look of the front end.
What grill is that?

Thanks! The grill is home-made, I just cut the stock grill out and installed my own grill bought from a home improvement store.

Got any how-to info?
I'd like to do something like that and eventually find some Morette's (need to finish my project car first).
