I'll have to keep that in mind if they get another one. I actually did a mapquest from Nashville out there. I think it was like 18 hour or something. A little far for a weekend road trip.

they only got the front clip in basically, and several other misc parts from the rear(tails, exhaust, badges). they're really poor with communications too, but while talking with them in person, I doubt they'll be importing another one. they lost big time on the deal, as the transmission ended up being cracked and a lot of the other stuff they couldn't figure out how to get rid of(mostly due to their own incompetance). They've still got the prova suspension(3 good, 1 bad(as seen on their website)) and the mirrors I believe. transmission (which was really unique) was trash, and the engine only fetched about 2k I belive.
either way, if you need to talk to them in the future, I'd suggest phone versus any type of online communications.

yep...'junkers' out of a 7 series...pretty easy install, basically just needed to cut the hole for the bulb slightly bigger and figure out a way to mount them...hour long project, pretty easy IMHO.
I ordered some 'yellow ion' bulbs(similar to lexus is300 yellow foglight) for the fogs...should look pretty cool when I get them, xenons and then yellow yellow fogs ;)

Nice ride! I like the B4 touches.
It's crazy how small the WRX 16's look on the newer Legs. They seem so big in my small wheel wells but yours look like anything smaller then an 18" would seem small! =)

Yea the rims do look real small. I'm sure you can find a decent rim and tire package somewhere. How much would you spend?

the last 2 pics look like they came straight from GT videogame. Car looks awesome. Did anyone pick up the Blitzen rear bumper off of that car?
fibuz
04-26-2005, 01:19 AM
Don't think the rear bumper made the shipment to the states.
However, I did pick up the rest of what they had from it (sans engine) last week including the following:
sideskirts(need 2 more pieces to complete the set(rear section of side skirt going around rear wheel well)
http://img43.echo.cx/img43/6656/dsc014254bf.jpg
blitzen guage cluster(working on translating wiring schematics now to get it it...if it stills works)
http://img43.echo.cx/img43/7130/dsc014267jx.jpg
jdm heated power folding mirrors(gutted the internals and put them in the USDM housings last weekend...near perfect fit in usdm housings, and they do work, but still need to do the wiring to the button now...project for another day)

Ahh, badbasser98, I see you are hot on the case. In your other post, I suggested that you come see this man....he's the one to help you with BE mods.
Looking tight Fi, real tight. You still have that Blitzen tag? I think it'd look nice opposite the JDM Subaru tag on the trunk lid.
Baja-T hood, eh? Swap in the future? Or just going for the mean look?
You know what would look good on your car for wheels: 05 LGT 5 spokes. 17", and can be had for le$$ than new Rotas. I think that would round your ride out nicely!
Is that gauge cluster tinted? I had to bring it into Photoshop to actually see the gauges. If it is tinted, thats hot! Blacked out cluster when parked and off.....nice touch. Lighting must be cool too; having to overcome the tint.
Keep it up Fibuz....always something tasty coming from your corner of the forum.

Yep, I agree 100%. I'm waiting for the price to drop on them a bit...I think they're still too expensive. Picked up 03 WRX 16's with tires for 200 a few months back...I'd like to see the Legacy 17's at about 500 before I jump on it.

That does light up nice!! Mmm, thats a sweet mod!
LGT rims....the price will drop sir. How do I know? I picked up a set here, in NH for $500, 400 miles old (and it shows...or should I say, doesn't show :-D ) and it came with RE92's. I know, whoo-pee on the tires, but that was the price for everything.
Sure, it was local, but the price will drop to your favor soon.
Ideas on the motor yet?
Good luck with the illumination.

The rims look good! Those 17's? I was looking at some STI V7 gold rims and they are 17x7.5 and was wondering if you might know if I would have a rub issue with those. Also I am looking for any tips you might have to mod the stock intake, or would that be worth it? There are so many different boxes that come of from the main tube of the intake, are they all nesessary or could you tell me what they are for. If it makes a difference, I have a 2002 GT.
thanx,
-Matt
fibuz
06-03-2005, 03:02 PM
Any 17x7.5 will fit fine...just make sure the offset isn't nuts. Supposidly the ranger you want is between 40-50. Also make sure they are 5x100 bolt pattern.
As for stock intake, I'd leave it as is personally. I don't seen great enough gains from intake modification(and no other benefits wanted besides 'noise' maybe)...so I've been back to stock for a long time.
The purpose of the boxes in the stock intake is for water/debri to be caught before it hits the filter. All of them are probably not necesary, if any at all...especially with an aftermarket(K&N) filter, as it retards water anyways.

I actually wish I had kept my stock intake...a snorkusectomy, K&N air filter, and a pipe rather than the silenced plactic duct work would have gained me a lot more results (more importantly, kept my low end torque) for a lot less than my Short Ram intake :(

I happened to fall upon a pair of bmw E36 halo projectors and i was going to sell them on ebay but if theres a way to put them on my leggy ill gladly do it, were there any troubles with the wiring? Is there any way I could just get a good pic of your set up so i have a reference point?

Well, obviously you're gonna have to do a lot of custom fabrication to get the projects into your headlight enclosure. This is going to entail a lot of cutting and custom brace-making to hold the projector in place. You want to make sure you plan things out though, as the high-beams will still need to reflect off of a reflector in order to work.
As for wiring, there are two avenues which you can take.
A. "The Safe Way"
Using a bunch of different relays and wiring to take power for the HID ballast directly from the battery. Bunch of extra work, but safest for your electrical system. HID systems do use less wattage when on, but the demands of the ballast upon warmup have been said to be too much for the stock wiring.
B. "The Lazy Way" (I chose this one)
Simply splice the power and ground from the OEM harness directly to the ballast. Takes all of 10 minutes.
You didn't say if you had all of the actual HID equipment besides the projectors. You will need bulbs, ballasts, ignitors, etc. Just make sure you get bulbs that are rebased to fit into the projector and it'll make your life a lot easier(which may also require another converter type plug.)
Good luck, and thanks for the compliment!
