I got a set of stock '05 wheels to put onto my 95 Legacy and I am trying to replace my tires sooner than later to see if that is what is causing my vibration problem that I am having.

Anyways I can score a good deal on a set of Kumho Touring A/S 795 215/60/16's. Will these fit without issue?

I used a converter compared to my stock 185/70/14's and this is what I got in relation to the stock size:

Width +1.18" (+30.00mm)
Sidewall height -0.02" (-0.50mm)
Overall height +1.96" (+49.80mm)
Circumference +6.16" (+156.45mm)

Is this way too big? Will I get rubbing or other issues? If so when? With passengers in the rear, heavy load?

Sorry for the noob question. I checked out the faq though, and there were people that ran 225's okay, others had problems. Also no one was running anything this tall.

I realize suspension plays a factor, so for your consideration it will be riding on 02-03 wrx stock springs and struts.

Thanks again.

You should be fine.

Here's the numbers the Miata calculator comes up with:

Specification Sidewall Radius Diameter Circumference Revs/Mile Difference
185/70-14 5.1in 12.1in 24.2in 76.0in 834 0.0%
215/60-16 5.1in 13.1in 26.2in 82.2in 771 8.1%

I don't think they're gonna fit. 2 inches difference in height is a lot. Maybe if you toss Outback springs and struts on it.....

Oh, my bad. I was thinking 15 to 16.

If you go with 55 series tires you'll be fine though. I believe 205 55 is stock for the LGTs.

Too tall, 205/55/16 even 215/55/16 if the former isn't available, should be ok
