Every once in a while, when certain types of wheel styles get a little older, Subaru will drop the price on them dramatically.

For example, the 15" wheels pictured on this 98 Forester, which I believe is part number 28111FC050:

... currently lists for $96.92 each from a dealer. You can buy a brand-new set of these wheels for under $400.

Considering that many Subaru alloy wheels list for close to that for each individual one, that's a REALLY good deal.

I believe there is an SG Forester 16" alloy wheel that is similarly priced, but I'd have to check on it.

I'm actually buying a set of these exact wheels myself for my Legacy.

Just letting you guys know, in case you want some nicer OEM Subaru wheels.

for the prices at which subaru calls "for sale" you can get 18 inch prodrive rims in near perfect condition.

And yet, they are 18's which means they are retarded...

retarded for THIS climate. Not so much if you are rolling on smooth tarmac and regularly break the 300hp mark.

Is there a place where I can get part numbers for certain wheel styles, like in a gallery? I love most all Subaru OEM wheels!

Your both missing my point, I'm saying you can get much better wheels for that price, doesn't have to be 18s.

"better" is such a relative term.
Lighter? Stronger? Cheaper? More advanced construction methods?

Those are more definitive terms.

eh, you're comparing apples and oranges silentracer; those 18" for $400 are probably used - vs. a new set of OEM rims. Case in point, I got a set of Team Dynamic Monza's in 17" w/ relatively new Kumho MX's for $250 - that's not really a fair comparison either as it was a fluke with a local seller.

For under $400 for a set of new OEM rims, that's pretty good. Mind you, the 16" Legacy snowflake rims usually sell for around $350 on the used market, so that's a more decent comparison.

Yes, thank you.

Anytime you get four brand-new wheels that aren't steelies for $400, you're getting a good deal.

Just for comparison, ONE (1) brand-new 04 STi wheel costs over $700.
