transmission fitment

i found a 01-04 legacy at a junkyard with a 5sp manual in it with 48000 miles on it .. i was wondering if itll fit into my 95 lsi .. ive got a 99 ej25 to to in so i was thinking itll be fine?

Are the gear ratio's the same though? Might want to grab the rear diff too.

Gear ratios will be diff...probably. Mechanically it should bolt right in though.

Bumping an old thread with a new question. In looking for a used 4EAT for my 96, what other models/years could I use without getting a new rear diff (oooooh, good reason to go with the JDM LSD one though....)
