Has anyone attempted to do the swap or the "they cant fit" is based on theories?

RE: EJ20TT in a LHD car

It doesn't work simply because of the downpipe on the TT setup. But if you converted it to single turbo, then you're good to go.

EJ20R block + VF34 or VF23 (IIRC) turbo and the right management, it'll be a nice runner.

decke48 - i missed that one lol o well that explains it, Case closed.

It would be nice to see some of you USDM guys running some boost while carrying the Legacy name.

i was thinking of buying a closed deck 2.2l and swap out my 2.0 and run a IHI VF22 Secondary and 20 Primary =D

I think all IHI series turbos are direct bolt on replacements.

OT, just follow Reuben's write up and go single turbo. You'll enjoy it more.

Hahaha, TT with a VF22... VOD would be so huuuuuuuge. remember you're splitting the exhaust gas between two turbo's when "on secondary". 22's lag enough as is without another turbo taking their thunder. Would be a waste of tiime. A good and easy upgrade however is the VF26/27 combo from the BE/BH RSK's/GTB's. they are the biggest TT tubo's. Don't be fooled, the 30 somesthings on the AUDM's are actually smaller!

And parallel's are always fun, not to many do them. Theres a B4 in auckland with a 257 short block that's running twin TD05's. apparently it goes like stink :D

Oh, and when did the TS-R get a bonnet scoop?

I know they are Super rare but would say a LHD Postal Legacy have no issues as far as everything fitting?

I know they are Super rare but would say a RHD Postal Legacy have no issues as far as everything fitting?

Corrected, and you'd still need the engine x-member but apart from that, no issues with clearance as the steering column is on the RHD.

When i bought one and throw it on it
Prepping for my engine swap, the car is gonna be a GTTS-R lmao, After i get my pistons and rods i will do the swap.

VOD should'nt be too bad with this

Its just sitting down in my room staring at me.

My Car is a mongrel, cross breed of GT-B, Bug eye, GC8 and a Boat.

haha, nice. Don't forget it doesn't reduce vod, just changes where it occurs, which can have the effect of it. But, you'll find with the right settings, you'll forget VOD ever exsisted.

Don't forget to get an apexi AVC-R for superior TT boost control. :D

I hope you don't mind me asking though... but why TT? You already have a GTB don't you? If your doing a conversion, don't dismiss single turbo without much thought, or on principal.

The GT-B Encountered a little problem, Insurance :( i was 19 at the time i bought it so i took the tranny out and put it in the TS-R, but just my luck that i got the 4.444 with the looooongest ratios, so Long ratios + non turbo motor = No straight shift into second gear. i could have just bought a gearbox put i it in the GT but i said eff it, my white one is a 98, it looks better & the insurance company loves that more than a 96 so i am swaping the motor.

The car is sitting in my yard right now, i thought the engine was bad initially until i checked it out, all it needed was a water pump but i bought a power Enterprise performance Timing belt while i was at it.

I already spend 450 (540+ Usd) bucks on the controller, i wanna mess with it a little bit.

GTBSpec, i decided to buy a track car instead of building a GT-B motor, getting a GC8 WRX After hurricane season.

Its a good thing i didnt jump the gun and start the swap X-D
My country is the little dot between the 2nd and 3rd H in the projected path. (The only hill the country has is the DUMP so flooding is eminent)

... We are doing it right now and...yeah it's quite a handful. The primary turbo needs to be relocated a bit( a few mm), the i/c is hitting the clutch master, the wiring loom is a nightmare and the lack of info on the ecu pin out isn't making things any easier.

where we at:
-we have figured out how much to move the primary turbo to have decent clearance with the steering column. will it affect boost?..we'll see.
-most of the wiring is done. just a few wires specifically relating to ign. that's the reason why we need the pinout diagram.
-we have a few ideas on the i/c and clutch master.we are actually more focused on the wiring as of now.

veh info:
'99 subaru legacy gl philippine dm
single cam ej20 4wd mt

donor car/s:
'94 legacy gt
ej20h tt 4wd mt
engine and drivetrain

unisclosed my legacy gt-b at (no engine)
aftermarket body kit, headlights and fog lamps
apexi drop in filter,syms exhaust
bilstein suspension

any help on the ecu pin out diagram is greatly appreciated
please email me at bogs0905@yahoo.com thanks

Do you need a TT pinout? i got one for the 4Plug EJ20H TT.

You should have an email.

here's the link anyway, Thanks to Koom over at clubsub.org.nz

And for future generations, the EJ20R 3-plugger as well, thanks to GTBlimited at the UK TT legacy regester

we somehow traced the wires and we are ready to close the loom. it should be running this week. i'll try to post pics once the car is done.

I think all IHI series turbos are direct bolt on replacements.

That is incorrect... VF 36, VF 37, VF 38, and VF 42 (all twin scroll) require a twin scroll exhaust manifold, up pipe, and special down pipe (different bolt pattern) to run. Other than that, I believe you're right. (Has been thinking about upgrading the WRX with a VF 36.)

sorry even though its way back then i shouldve said all the VF2x Turbos are almost direct swaps
