A friend of mine has a set of 18in Montegi's on his WRX wagon and they are for sale if I want them. Question is....will they fit on my 90 legacy with little to no mods?

I'm not exactly sure how wide they are but I could find out later this week if it makes a difference.

Width definitly makes a difference. I dont think theres very much room in your wheel wells

Does anybody here have Motegi wheels? I'm not trying to talk trash but I've always been under the impression that Motegi and Konig wheels are about the same in quality. I made the mistake of buying a set of Konigs for another car I had in the past and they were complete shit. You could bend them running over a grain of salt. Good thing is I bought them for $300 with tires and sold them for $600 with one flat tire to some ricer boy that was thrilled to have them.

My friend bought them for $300 as well but is going to sell them to me for less than $100.00

Even if I have to run small spacers it would look nicer than those hubcaps I am sporting.

He is your friend right? You should just test fit them before you buy them.

Very true, and for less than $100 you can't go wrong. Like Reason said just have your friend let you try them on first.

He is a friend so I don't see why he wouldn't let me do a test fit.

I'm worried about them hitting the strut assembly. With the stock rims and tires it doesn't look like there is alot of room in there as it is. The 18's have some serious low profile tires on them so I guess it might be the size of whats on their now. I wonder.....

You could try it, but from what I understand, 18s just don't fit 1st gen legacies.. but it doesn't hurt to try.

You're not concerned with handling and performance, are you? (this really is a question!)
Being that as it is, if you want good handling, and better performance out of your setup, as a whole, 18s aren't the way to go. ..but if flash is what you're after, slap 'em in there!

Just going for the bling factor really. I am looking at a set of 17inch gram lites. They are a little pricey but I think they would look pretty good.

18's are a no fit on stock 90-91 struts.

18" wheels will fit on your wagon. About six years ago I worked at an accessory shop where we installed a set of 18" Team Dynamics wheels on a 1991 Legacy Wagon. The tire size that was used was a 225/35/18. The vehicle was also lowered on a set of Ground-Control coilovers. Tire size and wheel offset are big factors.

See the post above you. They don't fit except when you've modified your suspension to coilovers. Strut/Spring combos are rarely thin enough.
