Sun-visor
A seatbelt I made into a regular belt
A cable to control the heater
Factory dash switch
convertible top latches
Tow hook loops the double as sway bar mounts

My "new" belt all finished up!
As you can see, there really aren't any salvagable body panels. Although I might take the bonnet and trunk lid if they're still there next time I go!

Also, I saw one of these a few months ago in one of the yards. It's gone now, but I'll let you know if I see any more...
How does one make a timing belt into a belt lol
Well, we have fresh paint, so hopefully today or tomorrow it will get sprayed and next week we'll pick it up. I got a text from the guy painting it yesterday and hopefully this will happen this time!
I need my Spitty back because the Scoob is on it's last legs. The headgaskets finally went a few days ago but it's only noticeable when driving on the highway for more than 30 miles. It happened on Route 15 going to Williamsport to see a good friend of mine.

I think it was MAE/PPG? There's a photo of the paint can on my facebook album 64Restore. The color is British Motor Corporation Pure White. It's kind of funny because that was the color MGs and Austin Healeys were painted, which was the direct competition against Triumph.

That especially surprised me because the last time we put gas in it was before it was cut up, which was Christmas eve of 2008. Since I started working on this, there have been a few things I have noticed I dislike about the Spitfire. I wish it were just a tiny bit bigger, when compared to the trucks and SUVs rolling out today I feel like I'm driving a gocart, and on the highway I'm looking directly at the hubs of semi trucks. I don't like how I have to turn on the highbeams with my left foot, seriously there is a button next to the clutch I to turn them on. This will change soon since I'm more know more about automotive wiring thanks to the Subaru community Time hasn't been kind to my seats or any sort of upholstery, I may have to get new kits but it's a hell of a lot of money, which I don't have. But I think the biggest problem of them all is how lightweight the car is, or rather the weight balance. In the front I have a cast iron engine block (granted it's only a 1.2 litre but still!) and in the back I have a gas tank and sheet metal. My driveway is a stone drive and I dug a freaking hole trying to back it up, the slightest touch of the pedal of gravel or any sort of dirt and you've got wheel spin. This also doesn't help with autocrossing because the rear of the car just slides everywhere. Other that this small list the car seems to fit all of my needs and is a pretty fun way to get from point A to point B. I do have a list of things I need and want to take care of (as well as mods) in order to make drivability more user friendly and enjoyable.
To Do:
New exhaust
New suspension
New tires with TR7 rims (TR7 rims are wider by an inch )
Get the Horn to work (Lucas electrics are a bitch)
tune up with new plugs, wires, points, condenser, and air filters
Mods:
3rd brake light
Spitfire 1500 rear swing spring
1" lowering block
Lucas Sport coil
Some sort of custom intake
Will update with pics tonight

It would almost pop over but then sputter and stall. I think I know what might be wrong so I'm going to head out soon here to take a look and see what I can do to fix it. I also borrowed a power washer from my stepfather's parents so I'm going to spray off the engine and under the car a bit. Just one picture for right now, progress to come...

The block still has the original paint and most of the frame was still white! Here are some more pics plus a video, running a bit rough but it should smoothen out after a bit of driving. I'd like to rebuild the carbs this year also but I'm not sure if I want to do that or make my own fuel injection setup
Digging a hole because the rear is so light, probably sticky brakes also. Driving should take care of that.
The video doesn't do any sort of justice, it's a beat up 4 year old Olympus FE-230 I got my junior year of High School. I need new cameras! lol

I have a few ideas in my head:
The wheels on the car now are the original rims from the factory with snow tires mounted to them. The original tires were 30+years old and dry rotted and those were free. I have a new set of tires I plan to mount to these rims, I just need to sand and spray them, I don't have money for sand blasting and powdercoating, which would be nice but oh well.
I also have a set of TR7 rims which are steel and wider by an inch, I'm thinking about using these for autocross and the skinnys for daily driving. The TR7 wheels also need the tires taken off, sanded/sandblasted and paint.
My third choice would be alloy Mililites, I have coveted these since I was 16 (http://www.classicsportscars.eu/spitfir ... re-mk3.JPG). They're not that expensive but still out of my reach at the moment. Maybe next year I'll scoop some up.

My uncle has a pair and it's not like traditional wheels that have lug nuts, it's just one big wing nut you have to hit with a hammer. Maybe not right not but sometime down the road I'd like a set! Maybe after a frame off restoration eventually

Then yesterday I started to clean the gauges, they were filthy. So I busted out some steal wool and elbow grease and cleaned up the chrome on the car!
Then finally today I got the cluster re-painted and assembled back together!
I'd like to paint a red stripe around the edge of the cluster or paint something to resemble/pay homage to the Spitfire fighter plane. More details to come soon!
