    Is yours still turboed?

    @anothernord
How about you nord, hows the new engine?
No sir, my turbo was waaaay too big to make any sense for the level of boost I was running. I'll be down(up?)grading to a Td05 18g
I've been to boost and back again my friends... and it was good

I'm guessing full boost by 3500-3600. We'll see though!

My build runs great! I miss the low end of the 2.5, but only until the VF34 spins up.

Here's still what I need to do before I can drive it.
    -install walbro fuel pump
-install gauges (waiting for the gauge pod)
-wideband installed, just need to route the wires to the gauge
-I'm gonna make another cold pipe out of aluminized steel because I need 3 ports (2 for catch can and 1 for iacv). I have the big one for the bov recirc with the aluminum piping but I didn't have the two 1/2 for the catch can and 3/4 for the iacv. I still have some mendrel bend 3 inch piping to use. That way I can weld it instead of keep going over my friends shop (sort of far).
-and paint pretty much the left over aluminum high temp black

So she runs but won't be able to drive until I have the gauges hooked up to see the readings.

How did I miss you boosting this?! All kinds of win bro!

Sorry haven't really updated for awhile. Been busy moving and helping family members move and get settle in the new place. My iphone home button don't work (only once in a great while). I basically troll on this site when i'm at the bathroom lol. Also something happen to my phone to where I can't send the pics i took to my email. Damn craigslist spams must of got something from it.

Anyways the turbo was short live. Found out that the turbo needs a rebuild, it's leaking oil (bad oil seal) to the housing. Basically smokes all the time . Can't complain since it was only 100. It will be next thing I do after I fix the 98 audi a4 (install new front struts, complete front aluminum arm kit and tie rods, also braze the oil pan since it has a small crack). I'm basically my friends/family mechanic and paint on the side. Yes my legacy has been neglected but I'll get her back and running soon I don't like my new neighbors (old peeps) who's accusing us of having illegal things going on since there so much cars coming in to the house. Guess they're videotaping us and taking all the plates and turning it to the police ugggghhhhh miss my old neighbors lol.

I did install the gauges and will take pics and post it up. I still have to install the walbro fuel pump

I only took a pic which was the one on the first page. I bought some L metal and just welded it. Just look at a pic of the turbo cross member and you'll get the idea on where do notch and reweld metal to it. If you have the money, I would just buy a turbo xmember. I actually made it deep enough to accommodate a 2.5 inch uppipe

Still in town (modesto not tracy). Yeah I want to meet other legacy enthusiast. I went to a local subie meet awhile back but it was mostly wrx/sti's. I don't even think they know what a legacy is lol. Actually the old neighbors were actually cool. They knew whats up and actually ask me to work on they're cars. Its the new neighbor that were having problem with.

I actually got back on this project. I'm in a process of rebuilding the turbo. Tore it down today and ordered a major turbo rebuild kit. Will post pic later. I took pics but cant send it from my phone, have to send it to my bro to send it to my email

Woah! That gauge cluster is awesome! How did you move your HVAC controls down to the spot above the radio? I was looking at it a while back so I could mount some gauges but I couldn't figure it out...

Just dismount the hvac control and reroute the cable. Took out din pocket and cut out where it mounts. I'll take a pic of it next time i remove it. Easier to explain with pics

Re: r3v_v3ng3's t3/t4 turbo build (rebuilding turbo)

So after I got the t3 rebuild kit, I found out that it won't fit. I guess turbonetics uses big shaft and everything is much larger than your normal t3/t4 (shaft/bearings etc.) So I have to source out the rebuild kit for that.

I think I ended up messing up the turbo its because the way I mounted it. I was just researching about how they should be mounted and they are suppose to be no more than 15 degrees. If you look on how I mounted it it was on an extreme angle (around 45 degrees). BIG F@CK!NG FAIL

Side by side of the aftermarket uppipe to the one i made

You can go back a page and see how extreme the angle is. Thats why the car was smoking really bad. It probably had some oil starvation and messed up the turbo bearings and the turbonetics rebuild kit is not cheap

Re: r3v_v3ng3's t3/t4 turbo build (rebuilding turbo)

So back to the drawing table. Have to redo the uppipe/downpipe.

Took me hrs on how should I have the turbo mounted but eventually settled with this. I made it as flat as possible this time.

I was trying to route it just like I did before so that I can reuse the intercooler pippings but there is no way possible without removing the a/c lines which I want to keep. The turbo is also big, like almost twice as big as the stock turbos.
Bad news is I have to also re-route the intercooler piping. The cold side will be flipped to the driver side and also move the bov on that side.
The good news is that it will save me a 1.5 feet of intercooler pipe.
    So pissed...........

Sweet build - makes sense the turbo got nuked, the angle will do it in no time if you see the way the channels run inside them. Least it was a cheap enough thing to break!

Love the colour, love the front winglet / canard things, never seen them on a legacy before. Good job on the FMIC install too - everyone here jams the biggest thing possible on first, and hacks the bumper to fit afterwards - this looks really smooth, paint it black and noone would know either.
36 Cars and counting - 4th Legacy so far!

Cusco swaybars - Apexi coilovers - Downpipes & exhaust - Parallel twin turbo - FMIC - Advan RGII Alloys - some other stuffs

Nothing really since its been my daily. I ordered the turbo rebuild kit but turns out that the turbonetics uses the big shaft and have to wait on that to buy it. I returned it back to n/a to pass smog and so far is my daily driver. My girl been driving the outback since her audi A4 is acting up. So until I get the outback for daily, I won't be able to work on turboing it.

Here is how I had the valve covers done and also put in wrx turbo subframe
had to cut a lil bit of the subframe to make room for the n/a header

Why use an N/A header (and a UEL at that)?
    Wrx header = quicker spool

    Re: r3v_v3ng3's t3/t4 turbo build

I installed the turbo subframe and about a month later i had to smog it. The stock cast iron header don't work with the turbo subframe without alot of cutting so I opted of the uel which only required a bit of cutting. The car is N/A right now (my daily), until I get the outback as my daily then I won't be able to get it back to turbo. Still have to buy the big shaft turbonetics rebuild kit (waiting for my tax return )
