Well, my friend finished remodeling part of his house so hopefully I can get over there soon to work on the car. In other news, I was bored the other night and ordered two shift knobs off Ebay. One is actually interesting and fits with my white and gold theme. The other was a "its cheap, why not" decision. The first one is just a gold ball. The second is, well we will see if that one ever makes it on the car.

Today was fun. I left work and the TPMS light came on about half way home. When I got home I checked all 4 the pressure in all 4 tires. The left front was low so I checked the tire. Sure enough it has a nail/screw in it. I went to put some air in it to see how fast it will leak and my portable air compressor crapped out. And to make it better, my friend's shop is all booked up tomorrow. I have an appointment to get it plugged Saturday morning.

I just bought a Hella Sharptone kit from Subimods with bracket and their V2 wiring harness. Once that gets here it will be installed along with the HIDs and the axle will get replaced.

I went to my friend's house yesterday and we had a car day. He used to work as a tech for Subaru, Mercedes, Jaguar, and in the aftermarket field. With his help my new left front axle was installed. Now the right front is leaking too. The Hellas got installed along with the HIDs. We also adjusted how my front end links are set up. The Tribeca swaybar is wider than the Legacy sway bar so the end links were at an odd angle. Another friend of ours was there getting his car ready for MD inspection and replacing the worn out shifter bushings. He has the Impreza RS coupe in the pictures.

I will try to get better pictures of the horns and HIDs.

Nothing new done to the car in a couple weeks. I did get a letter last week saying the 09 Legacy/Outback is now part of the Takata air bag recall. Today I went to see my friend who is a service adviser at a dealership and scheduled the work for that as well as getting the dashboard replaced under the extended warranty Subaru Of America put on the 05-09 Legacy/Outback. The work will take place on May 11th since the dashboards are currently on back order. I also bought some clips to replace the ones that broke when installing the Hellas and HIDs.

The car is looking pretty good! I love those STI BBSs on a white car. It just looks perfect.

I dropped the car off this morning for the Takata airbag recall and dashboard warranty replacement. My loaner is a 2017 Outback 2.5i Premium. I really like the infotainment system in the car. Well, I like the whole car.

I love the new Outbacks, inside and out. I think Subaru really nailed it with the 6th gen Legacy platform.

It was nice to drive for a few days. I picked my car up this morning. Everything went well with the new dash install and airbag replacement. One vent doesn't sit perfectly but overall I give the work a 9/10. Now I need to sort out my windshield. It got hit by a rock on Thursday on the way to drop the car off. There is a nice chip right near the center of the windshield.

Just placed my first order from Japan Parts. I ordered a Cusco 3.0R specific front sway bar.

    What's wrong with Tribeca's bar?

It is slightly wider than the Legacy fsb so it was putting my end links at weird angles even with the spacers I had put it. It ended up wearing out the bushings in the end links so I figured why not change it out. The bolt on one end link was actually starting to pull through the bushing in the end link. I will post a picture when swapping the sway bars out.

Yes, now they are. I am not sure if I will fix it or just edit the thread and start with pictures from here on out. Are you using a different hosting source now?

Imgur is a decent alternative for now, but that's not a sure bet either as they seem ripe for advertising. I'd just keep local copies of everything and use them for now though.

A friend took this at cars and coffee this past weekend.

It also time to replace the idler pulley bearing and tensioner bearing on my car.

Turns out I was wrong about the idler pulley bearing. The noise is a heat shield on the passenger side header.

I have not yet. My friend that helps me with all my work has been really busy and I had surgery about a month ago. I hope to get it done now that the temps are getting cooler outside.

Just put down the payment on a set of HKS ES Premium mufflers. Now they need to be shipped from Japan.

That feeling when you get boxes from Japan. My HKS ES Premium mufflers arrived. I knew from add that one has some scratches on the bottom and one has a small dent. But they are in much better condition than I thought. There is virtually no rust anywhere on them.

Did you try putting the endlinks on the INSIDE of the bar? I did that with my old 98 GT and it kept the endlinks within spec.

Nice mufflers! I've never seen those before. Be sure to post a sound clip when you get them on!
