    Shake, Rattle, and HELP!!

    okay...
I am the second owner of a 99 Legacy SUS... same one I've posted to death.
EVER SINCE i bought "Rose", she has vibrated much like a "Magic Fingers" massager WHEN IDLING... ALL GEARS... but the vibration is NOT AS INTENSE when IN NEUTRAL.
    WHAT could be causing this?

Also, I have a rattle in the back end that reminds me of the one I'd hear in my late Gramma's 96 Chevy Lumina which was caused by suspension parts being so rusted clean through there was no hope of repair...
    THIS ONE SCARES ME!!!

I would check motor mounts and the torque strut to start. Does she idle rough? Can you see the motor shake when parked and looking at the engine? Possibly a rear trans mount as well.

It has aftermarket CV axles most likely. It is a well known issue that non-original CVs will cause a shake at idle in gear. I used to put the car into Neutral any time I was at a light in my 96 BG because of this issue.

Now that is some good info that I was not aware of. I did know that AM axles tend to blow out. Glad I am upgraded to WRX stuff and was serviced when I did my swap.

I think everything in the car is stock stuff... She DID have AM water pump, head gaskets and thermostat until the heads warped and I got everything swapped out...
Battery is a little bigger than usual for this car, as it came out of my old 97 Plymouth Voyager SE van... But I still have the battery pan.

    Figured it out!
Rear bumper is busted loose in three places, but the assembly is still connected to the car...

That doesnt sound fun. Plastic clips break? or are you having some issues with the side brackets that bolt to the body by the wheels?
