Re: What have you done to your car today?

The BK greeted me this morning with a dead battery. It barely started the car to go home from work yesterday. The battery is about 7 years old so I don't think the alternator is an issue too. At least I hope not. I had drive my POS BH to work this morning.

    its good!
(I've got a couple new youtube videos up, check them 1996 battlewagon http://www.youtube.com/user/aspleenic/videos)

There are some noises.. it turns out a lot of them were a dead end link on FSB, so disconnect and happier.
still some mystery noises though but it climbs like a mule!

Isn't low range amazing? I can't wait till I get back to working on my truck and end up with about a 75:1 crawl ratio. Then again it's needed to push the size tires i run with a 4-banger. Gonna be so much different than the 30:1 I have now.

Re: What have you done to your car today?

While driving today I had my son in the back seat and could hear him talking to himself and laughing. it sounded like he was sitting on a washer machine. So I took a look under the car and noticed I need a new end link on the rear passenger side. Which also explains why the car kinds sways on hard turns. I've been trying to catch up on bills and nothing yet. I just keep losing and my car keeps getting neglected with parts it's really starting to piss me off that I can't do nothing to fix it for now.

Registered my new ride today, just need to get paid so I can insure it and start modding it
My greatest feat with my car is the constant willingness to keep it on the road for no apparent reward.

Y E S, I love having a low AND full time AWD, ooh AND 25 mpg!!
yeah I bet the 75:1 is pretty sweet! Is it an old 'yota 4-banger? what are each of those rigs?

I know mine isn't much when compared to the 4x4 truck world, but mine adds up to 20.5:1 (4.11 axle ratio helps ) in an AWD, 4-door sedan

Changed a burned out fog light bulb. It lasted all of about 3 weeks. Thats what I get for cheap ebay bulbs. Oh and yesterday I replaced the dead battery. That lasted 7 years.

Because now after taking my breaks apart and taking that stupid lil plate out... Its now making a loud clicking/clacking sound at random times. Sounds like axel noise, buttt.... It only does it when wheel is strait and goes away when turning left or right ooorrr when applaying the breaks. ????

That is an awesome frame. I need that for my 74. Since I have the back debadged most people mistake it for an old Datsun half the time. That would only add to the confusion. Lol.

I installed leather front and rear seats from an outback into my Brighton, no more ugly worn out blue seats!

I also found a cargo cover at the salvage yard I got the seats from, and they GAVE it to me! Heck yes.

It came off an '80 brat (which sat in a field for 13-15 yrs) that I got in the mid 2000s... I'm pretty sure it's original for that car when it was purchased used in the late 80s

Check for cracks in the housing and lens, make sure the bulb holder is properly seated so moisture isn't getting in through there. If that's all good you'll have to bake it and split the light to add sealant. Don't use silicone to reseal, use 3M window weld ribbon... which is butyl rubber like the OEM sealant. If you have any questions about doing this, shoot me a PM.

Found condensation in my passenger side headlight. What is a good way to get it out and keep it out? I can post a picture of it later. Its in the section with the corner/turn signal.
I couldn't find any cracks and it looks like the bulb holder is seated properly. It does how ever look like like the light was baked and taken apart before I bought them. I am at least the 3rd owner of them. There is a lot less condensation inside today there there was the last few days.
