I got plates today! Drove it around, topped off the gas tank, filled the tires (I knew they were REALLY low, but i didn't think it was 14psi), and gave my puppy a ride around.
I started playing around with vinyl wrapping material, specifically Avery Dennison Supreme range.
And stared at Craigslist, Autotrader etc trying to find that ideal 5MT Outback for me.

Bought a trunk bicycle rack that holds (2) bicycle for the Subi. Install it (pain in the @$$) last Saturday and haul my wife Fuji on it to a state park so she can learn how to ride (long story). Then drove the Subi back to the bicycle store last Sunday with the trunk rack and I ended up ordering/purchasing a Fuji for myself (it's been over 25 years).
Washed the Benz over the weekend.

Rust finally killed the BK.
I found a less rusty '01 Outback Limited with the mandatory 3 pedals. I'll post pics when I figure out how to do so from my phone. I just put a new inner tie rod end in the OBW this eve.
So an '01 is a BH?
Still has a blown speaker and needs rear shock/struts. Might install a 1/2" lift...
A station wagon with a clutch pedal?
I washed mine yesterday...rained this morning.

Well, here is what I did to my BH GT in the past two days.
Two days ago, I washed and waxed whatever paint the previous two owners left intact, and meticulously cleaned all of my windows, inside and out. The windows alone took me 45 minutes, since every time I would go to step back, I would spot a streak or a smudge. I also sprayed tire-wet on my tires to avoid scrubbing them.
Yesterday, Saturday, I tossed my cheap headers, replacement trim piece, and air filter in my trunk, made a pit-stop at the dentist, then drove to the shop I work at (they are closed on Saturday, so I get to use the tools and lifts to work on my car). After fitting the trim that fits between the back passenger door and the front of the wheel well, I noticed that it was the wrong part, I mean, it fit, and it was listed as the same part number that Subaru listed for that piece, but it sticks out an inch from the rest of the body. Well, it matches my paint and is better than three holes, so I will leave it. Next, I put my car on the lift and went to work installing my SpeadyRacer UEL Headers. Boy, it sure shows that you get what you pay for, as I had to spread the head flanges about half an inch to get them over the studs in the head, but other than that, it was a pretty straight forward install (after I destroyed both of the bolts that attached it to the front cat).
I just wish I didn't have as much homework, as I would love to help my coworker and his team prepare their '89 civic for the 24 hours of LeMons.
I m̶a̶d̶e̶ printed a thing.
Nice

I searched subaru logo and found a few. I printed it off with slic3r. I'm not sure if I like the infill patterns that much. The other prints I made with Cura seemed a little more solid. Still playing with the setup, though.
Anyways, that is going to go on grill after I finish touching up the mesh.
Looking forward to a picture, Yoko.
If you are going to mount that on the outside of the car, I would consider going with a really high infill, since it doesn't seem to be that big.
Haven't had any complaints yet.
Looks like I will be securing a parts car this weekend. A rear ended 99 outback. The gut I'm buying it from picked out up at an auction for the ej25 and was going to toss the car. Leather heated seats and door cards that don't have dog teeth marks on them. Since I am snagging the car, I'll have time to look and see what else I want to take.
I need to pick up a BH for myself. Previous two owners of my 56,000 mile 2001 sucked at everything that involved hands and feet, as every single body panel is damaged. I've already replaced the taillights and rear garnish.
I could either repair/repaint/replace all of the body panels, or WRX engine/trans swap it, get a tube brush-guard on the front, and get some offroad lights... Similar cost.

Well not today but over the weekend. Me and my father replaced headgaskets on my mothers Legacy 3.0R. Not easy but doable without removing the engine from the body.
Just ordered a used wiper/indicator arm assembly from Germany (living in Denmark). Planning on doing a DIY on changing it out. My Legacy BG does not have adjustable interval or dimmer. From what I have read on Forrester and Impreza forums you just have to replace the wiper arm to get the adjustable interval settings, so hoping that applies for BG's aswell

The 3.0R is a 2008. It has about 300.000 km on the clock (186500 miles). A clamp had failed on the lower radiator hose, and it ran very little without coolant. But the harm was done, and the heads had to be machined. Now it's hopefully good for another 300.000 km We did the timing chain recently, so that's basicly new.
Any engine will blow a headgasket if it overheats enough. This isn't indicative of a common failure. The consensus on the Tribeca forums is that the EZ30D and EZ36D don't have an overabundance of head gasket failures - they were more common on the first gen EZ30 found in the 3rd gen Legacy/Outback.

Yes those two things goes hand in hand, overheating leads to HG failure eventually. Though the EZ30R that is in my moms car has held up very well. No larger maintenance work required, just the regular oil and filter change. Of course with quality oil that meets Subaru specs So overall no complaints about the reliability of the EZ30! And it drives great, very smooth running engine!
my new ride is a 3rd gen-I was going to pick up a 4th generation, but, they wanted way too much for it-and I really wanted it!

I second this. In our case it was operator error when installing the new waterpump when we did the timing chains. So my father forgot to "unlock" the clamp. The radiator clamps has the abillity to lock in the "open" position to make it easier to take them off. He forgot to release it again, then the hose popped off.
Washed the wagon this afternoon and 3 hours later it starts raining....
