View Full Version : Will it Fit? (02-07 Impreza wagon susp to 98 BD)

Hi, I was hoping one of the many educated guru's around here would be able to give me a hand. I have a 98 Legacy GT Sedan and I was wondering if the struts and springs from a 02 - 07 Impreza RS/TS Wagon would bolt in with no problems? I checked the Official Suspension swap post, and was just looking for confimation on this and that I read the chart properly. 2 of my struts are blown and someone local is selling a stock impreza suspension for pretty cheap since they just upgraded. Since I'm currently on a tight student budget I was hoping to buy the struts and springs to hold me over until I can afford something better.

They'll work. You may need to rotate the front two tophats to work, but otherwise as long as you get everything assembled it'll drop in.

you realize the front tops spin freely on the strut, right?

Yup, but some people don't realize what it does once it's bolted to the body of the car.

The spring tension should keep the hat in place so it doesn't spin.

Are the top of the stock springs the same diameter as the impreza stuff so you can re-use your tophats or do you need Impreza top hats to go with the struts and springs?

And that's wrong. The top hats on a Subaru spin freely. I think what you are referring to is the upper spring perch.

im tryin to do the same thing i was just wndering if the ride hight will be the same and is it gona be stiffer? i have a 98 lgt and there of a 02 impreza non wrx
