I thought some might be interested in this little DIY project I did the other day. The 12 year old paint on the rear spoiler of my dark blue 97 LGT had taken a turn for the worst. The paint was heavily hazed and actually appeared lighter blue than the rest of the car as a result. I removed the spoiler, cleaned it, and got to work with some Scratch Doctor polishing compound and a microfibre cloth and was amazed at the results. Take a look. Yes polish is great, wondering do you have pics of your car?

Luckily, the rest of the paint is in pretty good shape. I'd like to do a claybar treatment at some point though.

Ugh i hate work firewalls! Was the spoiler -oxydized- ? As in it has like blotches of faded paint? N e ways Ill have to look it up when i get home. I tried to fix the oxydation on my wagon. I used the heavy cut turtle wax stuff and a orbital buffer...no luck. Did the whole car though and followed it by a waxing. Good combo!

Very nice! I am going to wet sand my whole car next time, but this is what I got with Meguiars compound and polish.

No worries. It looks good man. Your paint looks like a mirror in that last one.

did that to my car...you would be surprised how much dirt is still on the car after you wash it
