I'm confused, all these abbreviations.

Just bought my first Subaru for a winter car.

1995 brighton, 5 speed, 186,000 on the clock.

Is there a list or something for all the abbrev's I see.

BH,BD, J88 something and so on. :smt017

I get some of them but not most.

okay...a BD is the chassis code for a legacy 95-99 sedan. Just like an F body is a Firebird camaro. So a GC8 is commonly refered to as a 2 dr Impreza 98-01. However the chassis code on the USDM ones was actually GM. So in relality it was a GM, but everyone called them GC's cause they were GC's in Ja pan. So really your question you're asking is simple, I'm just not going to make it simple for you to understand but not giving you all the information.
