TiC rear diff bushings

alright... does anyone know if these actually REPLACE the stock bushings, or do they simply "fill those stupid voids on the stock bushings" as their description states? from the photo they look like full replacements, but the description makes me think of an insert that slides into the gaps in the bushing ( i have used motor mount inserts like this before on other cars). am i over thinking this or is there a discrepancy in the photo?

i ask because my bushings are COMPLETELY trashed, torn into two seperate pieces. they need to be replaced entirely. i can crawl under the car and (with one hand) move the diff up and down with a loud CLUNK... i guess thats what 237k miles will do!

I was looking into getting these, but it turns out that these bushings are for the newer imprezas where the differential is attached to a "dogbone" thing rather than the rear subframe itself.

The part you need is actually Superpro SPF2664K. I beleive Turn in Concepts can get ahold of them for you. But these bushings press in and are sort of a pain to install from what I have heard.

after looking more closely at some pics of impreza/wrx rear ends, i see exactly what you're talking about. at first glance it looks the same, but sadly it is much different :(.

anyone know if the stock bushings have a metal "shell" that has to be pressed out, or could i just scrape out all the rubber to fit the superpro stuff? i have some superpro bushings on my escort, i was very impressed with the quality. normally pressing stuff in/out doesnt scare me (i have a 20 ton shop press) but in this case it looks like the whole damn subframe would have to come out... ugh

holycrap, i just had a possible brain-wave looking at that picture again...

it looks like the legacy subframe HAS THE MOUNTING HOLES to install the impreza dogbone... time to go crawl under my car in the cold and double check

damn... disregard that, 10 seconds under the car with a flashlight has proven my theory wrong :(

worst case i could get some smaller diameter universal poly bushings, a few inches of tubing, some plate steel.... and recruit my girlfriends dad to do some quick welding lol. heck we put a camry transmission in my escort, this would be cake :)

Here's another idea. I bet something like this could be fabbed up. I would expect a LOT of NVH, but it would buckle down the rear end nicely.
