The front bar is a fibreglass copy of a "Prova" bar that was designed as a replacement for gen2 GTB's in Japan. gotta be very careful on dirveways with it, the 'glass is very brittle.

Calipers are stock, just apinted red.
i have some '04 XT Forester 294mm 2pots and matching rotors to put on the front. they'll stop nearly as well as 4-pots given they have the same size rotors, but only cost 1/3 as much as the 4 pots do.

Yeah the credit for all the hard work and troubleshooting with the tempremental TT system must go to the previous owner.
He's a very fastidious bloke and didin't cut corners when doing things.
a fresh engine and fully-rebuilt auto box went into the car just 6 months before i bought it which cost him nearly the value of the whole car.

I've added a few of my own little touches like the wheels, fog-lights, steering wheel and got the ECU tune sorted out via a Haltech Interceptor, just to personalise it a little for my particular tastes.

new rear suspension installed to raise it up a little (Now has full set of 04 STi struts and black springs, also has 7mm rear strut-top spacers for extra height)

Also,
Yellow top (440cc here in Oz) injectors have been sourced and cleaned, ready for installation
GT-B Throttle body has been installed (it's bigger than the GT one) aswell.

plan is to drop in the 440's, wind up the boost to ~15/17PSI and tune to suit.
should pump out ~170KW ATW

had an incident with a driveway and foot-path resulting in some damage to my front bar.
so it was a good excuse to upgrade to something different

Awesome, just curious but what did you do with the old front bar? I'm sure someone handy with fiberglass could repair it.

I've still got it at home.
i'm trying to sell it off with the damage and someone else can repair it.
otherwise i'll take to it with some glass/ resin and primer and fix it myself.

It's just much more practical to have the plastic bar.
i like the look of the old bar as it's kind of unique, but just impractical

I agree with both points. Fiberglass makes for horrible bumpers if you actually drive you car. That bumper you used to have looked kinda cool just because it has some of the stock design light foglight holes, but still unique. I think the new bumper looks awesome on the car though. That is a GT-B bumper right?

And it is a brand new bar (gotta love comprehensive insurance) :grin:

My MAF is still in the stock location, just the filter that is not.
It's not an ideal location, and it does get quite damp in heavy rain, but it's an oiled UniFilter which keeps the majority of the moisture out.
it hasn't caused any issues so far. along with the long piping between the filter an MAF, and the relatively low airspeed in the 3" inlet will stop any water from getting to the MAF.

However, once the single turbo conversion takes place, i will be reverting back to the standard airbox anyway

When it arrived it was dark grey plastic and looked terrible, although in good physical condition.
an hour or so or prep later consisting of
2 different cutting compounds
wax and grease remover
tinted (black) polish/ filler
polymer polish/ wax
and finally a few coats of banana gloss (liquid wax)
and the thing looks better than half the paint on the car (especially the front of the bonnet)

Hi Rob. I could have sworn I was looking at my Car...I'll post the photos tomorrow, but its the JDM 95 GT-B spec with Bilstein Shocks & 240bhp straight up without tweaks. It also rides 215/45 R 17 Brigdestone Potenza G2 rubber, but I get the bucket seats without leather or heating and no Sunroof. I do however get the Automatic Climate Control. I needs some work though and like you I'm doing the tweaks step by step...I can tell you this my engine bay looks nothing as close to what you've done to urs and I have the original Airbox. Are your headlight the project beam type or the Xenon?

Rob What H1 Bulbs are you using on you beam light the standard 55 or higher....sometimes I don't find my standard ones bright enough. I live in Kenya and lights over here are the difference between making it home safely or getting towed home with a busted sump! I was thinking of installing the HID kits...whats your take on this or should I up my watts to 100 although I fear this might damage the reflectors on the projectors......also how did you load your photos I can't seem to be able to load my avator...yeah you can tell am new at this...

I'm just using some good quality 55W globes.
Pretty Sure they're Phillips Blue Vision (4000K).
they produce a very white light and have more visible light output than the higher temp (5000K+) globes.

I still need to upgrade the high beams as they're a very cheap globe and are very orange. I hardly use high beams anyway
