Legacy 2.5gx 2001 auto gearbox problem

My gearbox broke down two days after i bought my car from a dealer where i live, today i got a call from my dealer who told my that he have sorted out a very low mile gearbox from an 1999 2.5gx auto model who his workshop will fit on my car later this week, my question is if anyone knows if this gearbox will work on my car without any problem? is it the same auto gearbox on the 1999 legacy 2.5gx auto as on my 2001 legacy 2.5gx auto model?

Might help if you tell us where you're from.

the USA didn't have any "GX" models so my guess is that you're from Europe?

In which case the 1999 model is also a BE/BH model, so same as yours.

The questions you are asking you should really be asking the dealer - get the transmission code (on top of the new transmission) and it should look very similar to the one you have on yours - at the bellhousing where the engine meets the tranny, right by the firewall.

Yes its not a US model


I live in Sweden so its a European model


Okey the only thing i can do then is to wait and see when the car is done and test everything and see if everything works as it should be etc the hold button power button etc...
