Hi Guys I'm relatively new here and I have been searching and searching but I can't seem to find a DIY for a homemade grounding kit. If there is one for the legacy could someone point me in the right direction?
Thanks,
Chris

It's a pretty easy thing to do. I'm looking for a good link for you, but in the meantime I can explain to you how I did mine. Here is a link to a pic of a subaru with a grounding job done. http://i524.photobucket.com/albums/cc32 ... 290036.jpg (http://i524.photobucket.com/albums/cc325/dwmoss/07%20FXT/grounding/PB290036.jpg) <-- this guy used blue wire

1. Get some wire, shrink tube, and eye connectors. You can go as big as you want with the wire, but I just used some 6 gauge. I bought about 20' of wire, used 10 or so connectors, and less than a foot of shrink tube.

2. Start at the neg battery terminal and run a line to the intake manifold, strut towers, alternator, grounding location/s on the body, etc. You basically want to have a loop where everything is connected to a common good connection. I just looked for convenient locations under the hood that I could loosen a screw or bolt and sandwich in the eye connector making sure it wasn't on a moving part, something hot, etc.

Some people notice smoother idle, and more response out of the gas petal. I didn't really feel anything from it. I did however get remarkable results out of installing the DIY MSD ignition coil and some competition spark plug wires. You can read about this plenty on this site.

I'll post a link if I find a decent DIY step by step with pics.

Thanks a lot for your help, just so I have this straight, from what I've read all large aluminum parts should be well grounded? so I should run the tranny, the intake manifold (does that cover the rest of the engine since they are connected?), the body of the car, strut mounts, alternator, power steering and I guess I'll look under the hood for other stuff.
Thanks again!
Chris
