Hello,

I just found this site several nights ago while doing a little research for a 1995 Legacy L. It belongs to my girlfriend, who is away on a trip. She left me her car to look over for two weeks. She bought this car used several years ago. The body is kinda dinged up, it has a ricer exhaust on it, and I think the shocks are no good. Since she's away, I've been thinking about polishing it up a little. I replaced her driver's side mirror with a brand new OEM type mirror from ebay (it was damaged by vandalism a while back, and I fixed it temporarily with duct tape and zip ties). Now I'm looking to replace the exhaust back to stock, if I can find a used one at a good price.

I've been surfing this forum for info, and found alotta cool things on here! Getting some ideas too!....like a possible front end conversion to a GT, changing the headlights to projectors (jdm?), and maybe a very mild suspension setup. Maybe a nice wheel setup, something with a low offset. Man....I'm getting ahead of myself....but these cars can look pretty clean....seen several pics posted here of this model that look pretty nice.

Well, enough for intros. I just wanted to introduce myself since I'm new. I look forward to finding more info/knowledge from this site and it's members.

thanks in advance! :smt023

Christmas present? You are looking at about 200 bucks for lights, 150 for projectors, you can find stock exhausts cheap on craigslist, suspension about 150-200 bucks (aftermarket), wheels (stock Subaru)? could be from 100-300+....... So pricey list to that. Good luck and you must really like this one! There are guys on here and on legactgt.com selling good used parts. What brand exhaust is on there now?

Welcome to Sl-i

exhaust... is this a wagon or sedan? I have a nice GT exhaust from a sedan sitting in my shed taking up space. It's bulky and heavy but I can ship it on Greyhound to cut the cost.

Search around the rides threads - pretty much all the cars have brand names or tell you what you'd need to do to make X work with Y.

Kudos to you for sprucing up the ladies ride.
(a full interior detail with a buffed exterior is a GREAT gift too, or a nice headunit with an MP3/iPod/USB hookup).

Thanks for the break down of prices httrdd....very helpful...gives me a good idea. I'm not trying to spend much since it's not my car. I just want it to look clean.

For the exhaust, there's no listings around my area for stock exhausts....actually there's practically close to nothing around this area for this car. :-(

The exhaust on there right now is probably some universal exhaust, I'm guessing from ebay (not a full cat-back). It's like a canister style. It's pretty loud and annoying...well, louder then the exhaust I have on my car at least.

This car is a sedan.

I'll check out legactgt.com for a used exhaust also. Thanks!
