Does anyone have any experience with the H3 LED fog light bulbs? Are they as bright or brighter than a normal H3 bulb? Any pics of them installed on your car?

Find out the lumens rating. That will tell you if it's brighter or not.

I agree, but getting an accurate rating from a vendor... hmmmmm

The only LED emitter out there that will give you a lot of light is Seoul Semiconducter's P7-D emitter. Practically, they'll put out about 500-600 lumens on 3-4 amps, IIRC. You'd need a couple of them to get enough light to equal an H3 bulb. It would be an interesting project though.

LEDS have a limited light pattern. The reflectors have to be engineered for them. Just putting an LED "bulb" in a reflector made for a light with a filament will produce disapointing results.

I would not recommend using LED's instead of ordinary Hid/xenon or Halogen bulbs. those Led's are only for show.

If they are not as bright, then why would anyone use them for show?

It's not like you can even see them inside this type of housing.

In terms of useful light in lumens, LED's can't compete with xenon and halogen bulbs.

not only will LEDs not keep up with brightness, they wont be the same focal point. lights are ment to reflect light a certain way to produce a certain pattern, fogs have a wide pattern. LEDS are all over and "spotty" so they dont create an even output, so your output wont be good and the brightness will suck. buy a h3c hid kit for 40$ and call it a day

Would these be any better?

I think that tells you right there.

If it was doing anything serious for light output, it would say how many lumens it was.

I ended up buying Narva Range Power +50 bulbs.
