I have almost everything i need to install an emanage blue into my car. I have a plug and play harness coming so that I dont mess up any connections, or butcher the harness. My only concern is the inital setup for the emanage. I am going to install it in the car before I complete the turbo swap. When I do the turbo swap I know that I can go in and modify the injector size so that it compensates for larger injectors. The only thing that I am brain f@*king now is if I should put in the stock size of "280" (still hae to double check that number) for my 2.2 na setup or increase it due to the fact that I am turboing the car. I have 04 sti yellow injectors that flow either 500 or 550, i believe the difference is the fuel pressure, and am runnig a modified vf40. Since I am taking a non-turbo and making it turbo'd should I increase the injector size so that it does not pull to much fuel? Any help would be nice. I have been over thinking this for a while.

I don't know anything about tuning, but I would guess that you would pop in all the numbers of the current setup at that time. When you do the swap tune that thing right.

If I am understanding your question right, then you will want to tell the eManage that you are using larger injectors so it will reduce their duty cycles under normal cruise. So yes, you want the eManage to pull fuel if you're using larger injectors, otherwise you'll probably run so rich that the engine won't run at all.

what i am afraid of is it pulling to much fuel. if i were to hook the emange up to a wrx that is already turbo'd and add larger injectors i could see going from 440 to 550 on the scale, but taking a nonturbo ecu and scaling 280 to 550 in a turbo car might pull to much fuel. i am trying to figure out if my logic is right

The idea with scaling is exactly for applications such as yours. If you are really unsure, just look at your wideband and if you're really lean then you have a problem.

As a general rule, rich is okay. The stock tune for a WRX has the damn thing running 9.18:1 in the failsafe map. Obviously, if you're running 6:1, it won't run so well. I'd gradually increase it until it will idle happily and be at least close to 14.7:1, and see if the built in fuel trims can handle the rest. Get it close enough that normal fuel trims in the ECU are within 10 of 0 for long term, short term should fluctuate around 0.

What you don't want to happen is have it run really lean. I'd be happier seeing a car idle at 9:1 as opposed to 20:1. ;) For one, 20:1 will put more stress on the coilpacks, 9:1 will put hardly any load at all on them.

Good luck.

The only problem with the BD/BK/BG is that I haven't found a way to log the fuel trims, or even see them for that matter. I thought I heard somewhere than a ScanGauge II will do it, but I've had no confirmations.

Ah hah, the Snapon Solus Pro will show you fuel trims on any OBDII vehicle. ;) It's spendy, but worth it! If you work in a shop, it's worth it's weight in gold. :D I'm gonna have to buy one soon, but I'm going to be looking for a job in a shop. Also going to get a Snapon borescope, that's a pimp little tool to have!

Wow. You weren't kidding about the price! Well I need to do some investigation. I pretty sure that the fuel trims in my car are totally out of whack. I tried some various things using a USB-OBDII cable from eBay, but no results yet.

Actually, I think the Snapon Ethos might work as well. I have not hooked it up to my WRX, and I never hooked it up to my 1998 LGT, but it is a cheaper version of the Solus Pro. If should darn well be capable of reading fuel trims.

When i tune the emanage I am going to have a wide band. Also I think there is an evo cable out for usb to ob2 that is like twenty bucks. Find an open source program and that may be one way to log fuel trim. I appreciate all the help. Trying to make this build as easy as possible. So far I have taken my time and when everything is said and done should be interesting to see the results.

was gong to install the emanage today but took to long to install a set of EMUSA coil overs. Car handles so much better!
