no start w/ climate fan on

i just searched the archives about 8 pages deep...

i went out this morning to warm up my girls 00' impreza obs.
it was about 30 degrees out.

she had shut the car off the night before and left the heater and fan on.

the car wouldn't start with the heater controls on blast. so i turned them off, and it fired right up.

before leaving work she tested it again and the same thing happened. as soon as she turned off the fan it started.

is this the sign of a repair to come?
don't want her to get stranded.

How is the battery? Maybe the fan on high is drawing too much power to start.

not sure how the battery is yet, she just bought the car over the summer.
