strange whinning noise

i dont now if this has been answered before but i cant find it, i keep getting this strange whinning noise when i drive above about 20 and it gets worse if i push on the gass and if i release the gas it goes away, it sounds like the back right is where it coming from it just started today, i checked ll the back stuff no boots are torn and the wheels spin good if you lift it, i tried to see if i rev it while sitting if i can here it and you cant, is it the trany or somethng? any suggestions?

Check transmission and rear differential fluids.

i checked the trans fluid it was good it was completely flushed out 40,000 miles ago, and i drained differential fluid and refilled but still getting the noise and it only happens when i push on the gas going over 30 if i release the gas it stops and if i push on it it gets louder, wat could it be? its like a high pitch humming noise, please help thank you

Is it coming from the front of the car or the rear? or can you tell?

its automatic, it sounds like its coming from the right rear, its not chirping just a humming noise

Have you put the car in N while moving, and revved the engine? If it does it while the car is in N and moving, then it's related to your throttle input only.

i havnt thought of that thank you, ill try it in the morning. im starting to think its my exhaust or something i just got new tires think that would do anything?

Ehhh, sounds like it might be a wheel bearing then.

would a wheel bearing only make noise when i push on the gas? if im coasting it goes away

Does it sound more like a whistle?! I got a noise with my car that almost sounds like a Turbo spolling, only does it when I'm above half throttle. It's kinda funny to me...

I have yet to find it. Cant tell if its from the intake or exhaust... I have heard the same noise from 2 or 3 other cars, all 2.5 Legacy's...

the wifes 97 2.5 does that too, i dont care enough to track it down. seems oinly to do it, at 1/2 throttle or more, and 2700+ RPMs

i think its my exhust, i think i have small leak or something, ill track it down in a little bit

Yeah, I think we have the same thing going on there.... One of my friends thought it was a turbo.... hahaha... But yeah, it only comes around when there is a load... Sometimes just when I rev...
