hey guys i havent been active for a while on the fourms. but have been scouring the thread for info. im lost in the whole push type and pulltype clutches! and also equally lost in the flywheel difference from turbo to non turbo. basicly i found a Uber deal on ebay and need to know if i will have any problems with my application.

F1 racing flywheel 12.5 lbs (shouldnt have any problems with cels)

What car do you have? If you have a non turbo vehicle, that should work.

And looking at your OEM clutch, yes, it will work.

As far as push vs pull clutch, it has to do with how the pressure plate is pulled off the clutch and flywheel. A push type clutch setup has the throwout bearing Push towards the engine, on spring fingers, which pulls the pressure plate back. This is a NA type clutch setup.

Pull type is opposite, the throwout bearing is on the opposite side of the pressure plate, and you actually use it to pull the pressure plate back and off the clutch/flywheel. You can get more clamping force with this kind of clutch. Makes it more difficult to do a clutch job unless you know exactly what you're doing. ;)

if you're not a WRX/STI or new legacy trans your fine with that. I'd suggest going stage 2 organic for teh stiffer pressure plate, I got it and love it. It holds up perfect to my E316G EJ205 Swapped legacy.

Lightweight steel flywheel sounds cool, however, isn't F1 Racing a little iffy on quality?

yes and no. they will hold up on N/a platforms, but someone on rs25 had an issue with one i think. I have read somewhere only 1 thing bad about them. and it had to do with the ring gear, and they replaced it for the guy

I read just one horror story, on Legacy Central I think, of an F1 Racing clutch disintegrating after 10,000 miles or so, there were pictures and everything. I searched for it for a while but couldn't find it, I only found a few posts about their clutches, and only one or two bad but nothing extreme.

what do you expect for that price though. Look at the price on an ACT Light

i have an F1 racing clutch in my legacy, worked fine all of last winter. will be matted to my eg33 as well, wont be shocked if it blows at some point, but as far as im concerned i rather replace the clutch than my tranny.

I've been wondering about this brand for some time now.

The OEM Exedy units are just a bit more, that's what I had got, couldn't see why not go with a well known supplier.

well i have also heard that exedy makes some of the stuff for those F1 racing clutches. never could find any fact in it though.

Some of the older F1 clutches were re-branded Exedy units, but it appears that is no longer the case.

There are some great vendors on NASIOC that are selling genuine Exedy or ACT units for a little more than $250 shipped, they use the same part numbers etc.

Can you give some more details on the polyurethane you'll be using? I've wanted to try something like that. Let us know how it goes as well.
