Requesting pics of dual outlet exhausts on some 2nd gen Legacy sedans. I have been searching, but nothing. Looking for cars with dual/dual tips, dual outlet, and under carriege shots. Thanks! :smt023

You won't see any either, well let me rephrase that, you won't see any in the states (for good reason). But I have seen pics of 2nd gens in Japan and Australia before.

What is the reason Reason? I understand that true duals do not work, but I want to do a y pipe then dual outlet. What can the difference be besides the travel is longer with duals?

There's no room for a muffler on the other side, and it kinda looks umm.. :smt078

Dual tips are different from dual outlet... Grafton has a WRX dual tip single outlet.

^ had one, got rid of it, it tweeted and rattled. Got a large single oval tip that doesn't look like a coffee can, and it fills up the bumper space there nicely.

I think dual exhaust is sexy on wagons

That actually doesn't look bad, but still don't know if I would do it.

You'd only want to do it if you had, oh, I dunno, 300hp?

Single N1-style exhaust on a turbo Legacy wagon = wanna play?
Dual N1-style exhaust on a turbo Legacy wagon = runway 1 cleared for takeoff

By the way, the Subaru Ninja DEFINITELY approves.

Ok we need a photoshop of a 2nd gen sedan GT with dual exhaust! If not I will do it later on when I get home.

Just thinking about this thread. I think it will be a good time to redesign my exhaust system. I would like a nice dual setup like the one guy with the 2nd gen on here. Would a h-pipe or x-pipe be best for a turbo V6?

You're gong to run a turbo V6 in your Subaru? :)

You mean in the pic Antonio posted? Probably some kind of bizarre Hipposleek variant.

Johnathan from GiroDisc did a dual exhaust on his BD, among millions of other mods that make me needs new pants everytime I see his car

double post, i don't care

Just finished the 20 pages from Johnathan's build on NASIOC

He's improved the Dual exhaust and it's more towards what HTTRD wanted I think

I really like this guys wheel set up. Nice and fat :) This thing must just stick to the road with this much rubber.

Yea those wheels are insane! I have read his thread over and over. Did he finally get the dual exhaust fabbed up from the 350z? I have to read the updates.

A few things to mention.

1) Reason said there is no room.. that is only true with 97+ cars that had the new style evap system. Example my 96' has no canistor on the right right side next to the spare tire well.
2) Most dual muffler setups are much lower to clear the spare tire and this drastically reduces clearance
3) I cant speak for Giro but the majority of dual-setups are single pipe all the way past the axle back then split off and run just behind the bumper and out the bumper with a non-muffler tip only setup.
4) More weight.. more baller.. more work.

Yea I will have to look at his setup. I remeber hearing about that spare tire section being in the way.

yea he kinda.... cut the spare wheel well OFF :D for room, specially on that new setup
