Ok, with all the recent transmission talk I had a few questions about my 5MT. I have a '99 Wagon with the second Gen EJ22. So here are the questions....

1.) What are the current ratios in my gearbox? (99% sure it has 4.11 finals)

2.) What is the differance in gearbox cases in Subaru?
I do recall that the box I have is split length-wise, and the 6 speed WRX boxes are laterally split in the middle.

3.) Would WRX box internals (say a PPG set) work in my 5MT?

4.) Other than PPG, who sells high quality gearbox internals?

At some point I would like to rebuilt my transmission, and lol like most people, would like to do the EJ205/255/257 swap. Thanks for the info. If nothing else I would like to know the differances in the Subaru transmission cases (manuals boxes anyway). Haha thanks.

you have 3.9 final gearing. the legacys and wrx's have 3.9. the impreza rs's have 4.11 and the jdm impreza rs's have 4.44 with lsd. call EFI logics in connecticut. Ask for Jack and ask him about the gear fitting, he knows all tranny stuff and rebuilt my fiends wrx with ppg straight cut 1 and 2 gears. its nice n strong.
