Some of you may have seen my MOD journal for the BattleWagon. In a fit of indecisiveness, I can't figure out what the next mod on my list should be. I plan on getting some money for Christmas, so I'm already trying to figure out what to spend it on.

For reference, here's the link to the journal (sf.org linky since my phone is being stupid and won't let me get the link from this forum).

Whatcha think?

Engine mounts were my favorite mod. My Legacy felt like a "new" car. Kinda like a slow sports car lol

Yeah, I really want the first three. I have the Borla header already, so the catback would be great. I hate the huge, rubbery stock steering wheel, so a different one would be much better. The engine mounts would stop the occasional rattle between my header and the FSB, and make it a little more fun to drive....

So... I'll let everybody else decide for me. lol I'll probably have $200-300ish to spend on something fun.

swaybar. You can sell your 18mm swaybar to regular legacy folks to offset the cost of the rallitek (legacy's get a 13mm-15mm rear sway).

That's not a bad idea! Never knew that, but it certainly makes sense. I'd really like the sway. Everybody says that the HD rear springs + swaybar = neutral handling sex.

I'm gonna slightly jack my own thread, but are better mounts required for the bigger sway? I know they are on the Foresters.

RSB, sways are the best mod that you can do.

the ipd/rallitek ones come with bushing mounts made from thicker steel along with polybushings. Though I'm not sure on the fitment of the rsb on the outbacks with the rallitek bars - it occasionally hits one of the control arms on mine when the suspension is compressed, I ended up needing longer/adjustable endlinks to move the bar arms further away from the control arm.. If you can get whiteline rearbars, I've heard those don't get the same problem.

That's what I'm trying to say. I have all those mods listed and besides the note of my exhaust the throttle response and better shifting feel is by far the best and most noticeable. I would also look into who has all the upgrades you are looking for. You will get a better idea than some else and their wishful thinking.

^I've been looking at everyone's mods.

Thus far the catback is winning! I'm combining this poll with an idential one on SF.org, and here's how it's shaping up combined.

Catback - 15 votes
Wheel - 3 votes
Group N mounts - 4 votes
RSB - 5 votes

If the catback wins, I'll do that... and then after that I'll look at the mounts. I really wanted the catback since I already have the headers to match, and my stock exhaust is on the rusty side.

Tint will probably come before the mounts though. 50% all around. Curse MN tint laws! :-( Upside-down fishbowl syndrome SUCKS.

Since you have a 3rd gen with the softer engine mounts, I'd do those. I've noticed that the newer Legacies have really, really soft engine mounts compared to the older ones. Personally I'm quite happy with my stock ones, but the newer Legacies I've driven felt flubbery with those mounts. Quiet, but too soft.

Rear sway bar would be good, too. That's probably the best handling mod you can do without making the ride alot more firm. Sway bar will help neutralize the handling without having much effect on the everyday ride quality.

Swaybar. Best mods by far.

Engine mounts. Buy slightly used sti mounts for cheap. Put saved money toward rsb.

I'm curious out of all the people who voted actually have all 4 of these mods done on their car.
