View Full Version : RHD Swap?

Just wondering if anyone here has done a RHD swap on a BD/BG/BK?

If you were to have a wrecked RHD car sitting next in your driveway, what amount of modification would there be?

Obviously, firewall modification; would that be a cut parts off the RHD firewall and weld them into the LHD? or just cut the correct holes in the LHD car?

How about mounting the dashboard? Does the dash bar swap directly?

Wiper system? I know the motor is on the wrong side, is there any welding there, or just drill for the wiper motor and use the RHD cowl.

5 speed pedal box? I only assume there is no mounting provision in the LHD car for this, so more cut/weld from the old car?

the cross member/steering rack bolt right in, correct? What else would be a pain?

Thanks for any input/suggestions

Brock.

Cut out LHD firewall and weld in RHD firewall. I'd stick with the Postal wagon idea 'cause I'm a slacker  It would be a faster and cleaner process. IMO.

Thats what I would rather do, just wondering how much work it is on subaru. I helped a buddy to his Integra, but Honda firewall was pre-molded for the pedals and all that, so it was just cut the plugs out and mount stuff. Subaru actually changed some stuff it looks like.
