Hello everyone -
I have a 2003 Legacy GT sedan with aftermarket 22mm IPD rear sway bar. Like alot of others before me, I'm getting some moderate clunking between the sway bar and the lower control arms.
Current plan of attack:
1) Push sway bar mount brackets up as high as possible (already appear to be centered so won't gain much clearance).
2) Zip tie some rubber tubing around swaybar at contact point.
3) Turn up radio and try to ignore.
I know the above steps aren't going to totally solve the problem though. What will solve the problem is some slightly longer rear end links. Yes I've searched, but most of what I see referenced in the past is no longer available. Does anyone have any good current ideas or sources?
1) Miata end links - Rougeben used some of these in the past, he got them cheap and they required some modification. I can no longer find a cheap source - most Spec Miata websites carry adjustable rear end links but cost is like $100 and they'd still require modification.
2) Aftermarket for Subie - As I'm sure you guys know it's really hard to find aftermarket parts listed for the 2000-2004 Leggy's any more. Is there a Whiteline or Rallitek product for an Impreza or other chassis that will work? I'm not real hot on spending $100+ for something aftermarket, but if it was direct fit and didn't require modification - might be worth it?
3) Aftermarket for ?? - I saw reference to some cheap Corvette/GM end links that might work, any info on these? Any idea what measurement range I'd need? (IE - must be adjustable from 3-3.5"?).
Thanks if anyone can point me in the right direction. I really do want to fix it right. And I really dislike the stock end links so changing won't break my heart, I'm just ticked I'll have to mess with them again at all (and the fact that it's another cold winter here in Ohio).
