hi i have a auto 93 2.2 legacy whose transmission went out, i have a auto 96 2.5 legacy whose head blew i would like to know if the transmssions would be swappable of if the engines are, if both which would be best to switch

There's alot to swap over. You might consider selling one to finish off the other.
