Hey guys,

Long story short: HG/tbelt/waterpump/lower rad hoses all replaced in the past 60K. Noticed coolant in the snow this weekend. Dealer says waterpump needs replacement. I say WTF, it has less than 60K and two years on it. Bull.

I find this:

Um... This scares me because I'm at about 103,9xx and I have yet to replace my timing belt/HG/water pump...

I just need a few more weeks!!

I agree.

BE_Fresh - don't freak out. Any waterpumps that got recalled won't be sitting in a parts warehouse waiting for you. But call up SOA and get the batch ID so that when your mechanic does the work they don't use a bad part.

You need to find out if your car is covered by the recall or not. Just because it is an 03 doesn't mean that it is included. You'll also need to see when that recall was issued. If the recall came out prior to when your pump was replaced, they probably install the updated pump and they aren't going to give you a freebee.

Also, who replaced the water pump previously?
