04 headlights

i am trying to paint the metal peice in the lights but i can not take it apart to save my life i have tried everything i took all the screws out and lifted the clips up but it will not come apart what am i doing wrong? :smt009

you need to bake it to loosen up the adhesive.

-pre-heat oven to 275*
-remove headlights from car and all screws and metal clips
-place light atop waxpaper atop cardboard in the oven for 15-20min
-use gloves when removing light, pull apart housing, glue should be very loose so this should no be a problem
-careful not to dent/bend any plastic on the housing, it'll be hard, but its possible due to plastic being so hot
-be careful no to get the glue everywhere pulling it apart, its like hot cheese on a pizza
-remove via unscreing the part you'd like to paint, you can also clear the corners by removing the orange part
-paint your part with a few coats
- preheat oven again, use opposite steps to reassemble light
- replace all screw/clamps etc..
- repeat with other light

so i got my corners cleared, the chrome piece blacked out, and i just installed HIDS and i love it :grin:
