I heard somewere that u can put the agx series shocks on a 2nd gen. is this possible and with what customization. or am i better off with the gr2s for the legacy. agx seems like the better series but idk. and it may be a stupid ? but how do you put springs on a strut never worked with suspension much before.
yup. bolt off, bolt on, gr2s are just a cheaper alternative... i think you'll need to change out the tophats
springs slide right on.. you'll understand when you take off your stock stuff

What do i change the tophats with. Can i use stock or goe with something else? Is the tophat the piece with the bolts that bolts to the chassis?

Forget trying to "adjust" the AGX shocks. Shock dynos show that they are wildly different in damping regardless of batch manufacture. Only rebuildable shocks can be valved or tuned to match as a set. If I'm paying for adjustability I want it to work right. So I don't pay for adjustability. ;)

i just discovered the 1st gen impreza agx with some coilover kit which i might do. What is the diff. between the agx and the gr2?

agx = "adjustable rebound" (but unreliable results)
gr2 = oem replacement about 15% stiffer than stock
