I just picked up a new car/ first car. Its a 96 outback with 207K. My brother found it for me (gibbons98legacygt) For $750 bucks. When i got the car it had a blown up rear diff and leaked oil bad if u parked it for 5 min it would have a pancake size oil spot so it smoked like crazy when driving. So my brother got a new rear diff and pulled the engine out a resealed the engine. Now it runs and drives like a champ.

Parts:
Headgaskets
vavle cover gaskets
cam seals
water pump
timing belt
intake/ exhaust gaskets
baffle palte seal
oil pump reseal
power steering pump reseal
piston pin access hole reseal
Radiator / t-stat

Future mods:
JDM Headlights
JDM taillights
windows tinted
Paint rims black

Hey if you haven't already, you should swap the ECU with one from a 97-99 Legacy (that also have a 2.5D motor). Your ECU is tuned for premium, but the newer ones are setup for 87 octane, and will make your car perform a little better.

holy crap! what did you do??? $319 is a lot even for a ticket.

well i was doing 45 in a 25 and the law is u cant have friends in your car until after 6 months of getting your license and of course i had friends in my car. i was in ridgefield washington were the only things those cops have to do is pull people over

lord flashheart
03-11-2010, 02:07 AM
yeah kaysville utah is the same exact way.
im on a first name basis with all the local cops here. infact just the other day i got pulled over and the cop was like "i dont need your license, registration, and insurance. i know its all valid and up to date." later he went on to ask how my mother was doing. no joke.

03-11-2010, 02:13 AM
sounds like down by the tri cities...

last summer before i left, i got pulled over for 5over, didnt have my inscurance card with me.. dammit

$730

lord flashheart
03-11-2010, 02:52 AM
was your car insured? cuz ive had that ticket a couple of times and i just got a letter from my agent that said at that date and time i was insured to the minimum state requirements and they let me off. ive had to do that prolly 4 or 5 times.

iampetro
03-11-2010, 12:29 PM
and you still don't carry an insurance card???? thats seems like a stupid hassle easily avoided

lord flashheart
03-11-2010, 02:44 PM

well let me explain. i was the town trouble maker. i get pulled over AT LEAST once a month. at times i get pulled over once a week. and i keep all the insurance cards in my wallet and i dont take my wallet everywhere i go every single time i go out. for example. i went to the gas station which is about a 1/4 of a mile down the street. and i didnt grab my wallet.

so to put things in perspective. i would guess ive been pulled over AT LEAST 100 times since i got my license. and of those times
4 or 5 times i didnt have my wallet. so %4 of the time i dont have my wallet

and it sounds like an bigger hassle than it is. i just email my insurance agent they email me the letter i print it off and fax it down to the court house and call to see if they got it.

^^Maybe if you cut your golden blackadder-esque locks? When I had long hair and a scraggly beard I swear my nickname was random car search, and random bag check at the airport! Got a buzzcut and a shave and really haven't had any problems. I look hispanic with long hair, which may have been part of why the cops hassled me.

lord flashheart
03-11-2010, 03:53 PM
i didnt think anyone knew blackadder lol
you make an excellent point. the police dont give me nearly as much shit now that i joined the national guard.

Nice to see yet another Outback in the area :). Once I get a more regular (not 3rd shift) schedule, I'd like to meet as many of the PNW members that I can. It'll give me an excuse for a bunch of mini road-trips.
