parking brake

Ever sence I got my car the parking brake has never worked well, it will kinda hold the car but if it is on any sort of an angle it won't. Now my question is to fix this do I need to take the whole assembly apart, or will it work if i just take that plug out and turn the little wheel in there, also if I only need to turn the wheel which way do I turn it. Thanks

There's two options - adjust from the handbrake handle by turning the lock nut then the adjusting nut, then tighten the locknut back up
2nd option, adjust from the rear hubs

If it's really bad, you may need new shoes for the ebrake.

I tryed adjusting it from the handbrake before, all that does is make it so there are less clicks before I can't pull it up any higher. Is that the same thing that will happen if I adjust it at the brake though, meaning I will need to replace the ebrake pads?

^^ that's right. You should only be able to pull the handle about 4-6 clicks before you can't pull it any higher. You don't need to be a gorilla either.

The e-brake system is very simple - it's a cable tensioner system. You adjust it at one end, or at the other, or both... if that doesn't work then the cable or the shoes (ebrake) are worn out.

A decent mechanic should take about 1 hour to replace the ebrake shoes and adjust it as necessary, unless the entire mechanism is shot.

On the newer 07+ Accords the adjustment is only possible from the interior... if that doesn't work then the rear shoes have to be replaced.
