Happy New Year!
I'm the proud new owner of a 2000 Legacy Blitzen, and I found this site via the old Yahoo group. The main reason I'm here is because I backed my new baby into a pole in downtown Naha a couple of weeks back and learned, much to my horrified surprise, that Blitzens apparently do hot have foam inside the rear bumpers - something my dealer seems to have confirmed with Subaru, but I am still skeptical about. I had a body shop fix her up, but she really needs a new bumper. There was a Japanese source for these on the Yahoo site, but I can't find it now, so here I am.
Other than the above sob story, I love this car! I had a chance to take her up the Okinawa expressway from one end to the other, and she performs beautifully there and in stop-and-go traffic as well. It's a shame there isn't anywhere I can legally open her up all the way (I work for the Navy. Racing/Drifting/etc. are strictly forbidden to all military and civilian personnel), but I'm having so much fun it hardly matters.
If anyone remembers the email address for that Japanese body parts source, please let me know. I've searched here with no luck...
Thanks!

I have been to Okinawa a bunch of time out on deployment in the Navy. I love all the one lane backroads that the crazy taxi drivers take at like 100 mph! Or was that Sasabo? Anyways welcome and you will learn alot here.
Pics asap!

Go to the dealer. They'll help you with the bumper issue.

Thanks for the welcome, guys!
Zues Marine - I just work for the Navy, but anyone under SOFA has to follow the same rules. I see a few of what really look like drifting cars with the SOFA Y plates on them, but I don't know of anyone who drifts or races. If they get caught they are in some deep trouble. Somewhere on the island there may be a place for 4WD competition - that doesn't seem to be against the rules...
YamazakiSubaru - Thanks for the advice, here and in the parts thread!
Everyone else - She's the typical red Blitzen, just like the one that comes up in Google image search, but I'll get some pics posted ASAP. It's been a pretty rainy holiday here, with only about one day in ten that wasn't wet, so as soon as things clear up and I can get her washed I'll snap some. Like a lot of used cars that end up on Okinawa, it's a good bet that she was wrecked at some point but I don't know if, when or how bad. Right now I'm mainly worried about that bumper and whether or not there is really supposed to be impact absorbing foam in there...
I'll be honest, I don't really know for 100% certain yet that what I have here is a Blitzen. In Korea it was pretty common practice to mess around with a car a bit, re-badge it and sell it as a better model. I've seen one other exactly like mine on Kadena airbase, one silver one near the same place, and one black one for sale right outside the main gate to KAB. All of them have the right body panels and the appropriate badges, but I don't know enough about the Blitzen yet to be able to spot a fake... Since it's a pretty good bet that all of those were wrecked to some degree, what are the chances someone decided to slap some Blitzen parts and badges on the rebuilt car to see if they could get a couple grand more for it?

I seriously doubt it's a fake. But if you want to be certain - the option code on your ID plate should be 76C. That's the only thing that sets it apart from a regular B4 RSK on the ID plate. Well, that and the RSKs never got the color code 01W (premium red) like you should have on your car.
