i have the online version of the service manual but it doesnt break it down into sections and its in that stupid PDF files. i plan on putting new belts on in the future when the funds become available. but in the meantime, how can i tighten the belts? i see the tensioners but the subaru world is pretty new to me. pics and or advice would be very helpful. thank you!

the alternator belt is adjusted on the alt., just loosen the horizontal tightening bolt, then turn the vertical adjusting bolt and you will see the alternator move up and down, this tightens or loosens the belt.

the other belt is adjusted by moving tensioner pulley. its the only pully not driving anything.

same deal here, loosen the nut at the center of the pulley, then spin the vertical adjusting bolt
