alot of gear chatter in 5MT

hey! new to the forum, I have a 1999 Subaru Legacy GT 30th, 5MT with 121,000 miles. Ive noticed alot of gear chatter in gears 1-4. Its the loudest in gears 3 and 4. It sounds like their is to much backlash or something. All gears engage just fine. The trans fluid level is good. I don't think that amount of noise is normal. So i'm just looking for some insight on this.
