Yhlothr.

My 1995 legacy has got ABS issues, the ABS lamp is light up all the time after start-up, so i checked the ABS codes, i found 3 codes, 52, 54 and 24. From what i've read that should be 5 - Faulty hydraulic motor and/or relay, is that the relay you find in the small aprox 5x5cm plastic box next to the ABS... thing, on the passenger side?

54 should be Faulty stop light circuit? All brake lights light up when i brake though? Have no clue about that one...

And 24 should be Front Left wheel sensor when no open circuit or speed signal output? I decided to check the FL wheel sensor today, but. i. cant. get. that. bugger. OUT :smt011 I noticed how a plate goes from the sensor, and was bolted into the spindle, got the bolt out, and then the sensor was stuck, i could finally move the bracket up aprox 1½cm, and then down again, but that's it. So how do one get that sensor out?

Wow. This sounds... Bizarre.

Code 24 indicates that there's a possibility of several problems. First, it says that you're getting no signal from that wheel speed sensor. This means there's an open in the circuit, the magnet is too weak, the air gap is too big, the coil of wire is open/shorted/shorted to ground, there's contamination on the magnet (metal shavings), or the reluctor ring is missing, broken, or out of place in the hub. It also could indicate that the circuit board/computer is bad and can no longer receive/process signals from that input.

Unless you have a lab scope, you probably wanna have a shop look at that one. Or even, unless you have a multimeter.

Code 54 is going to require more data. An ABS code has nothing to do with your brake lights, or anything with the base brake system. You will need to know what triggers it, not just a half assed description that Subaru put out for the code in 1995.

Code 52 sounds like it will need more testing as well. You'll need a wiring diagram to figure out which relay, and then test the relay. If the relay tests good, then make sure it gets power and the ground is good. If so, Then you have two possibilities: There is a computer failure, or the pump is bad.

Actually, i have a small mirror on a stick, so got a little glimpse of the tip of the sensor, and there was some metal shavings on it, and the jagged disc it reads against looked just fine, could that be the problem then?

As for the other... Shit.

I'd start with the wheel speed sensor, sometimes these codes have cascading effects.

The wheel sensor has to be cylindrical in chape with a sharp (non rounded) right angle, otherwise it will throw a code. SOunds like the first place to start is the sensor. If you need a relay, get one from a scrap yard, as they are not cheap from the dealer.
