Couldn't really find my answer,

Whats the comparison from JDM BD springs to USDM stock springs?

My 2nd gen GT-B strut/spring combo feels stiffer than my USDM STI strut/spring combo. It's hard for me to explain, but the bilsteins seem to absorb impact better, whereas the STI absorbs and transmits it to you! Both handle awesomely on my Legacys. I remember Japan having really nice pavement almost everywhere, so I'll say there could be something to the stiffer spring theory.

I wouldn't mind having some of that nice pavement here. Unfortunately, it only exists in the cities. :smt012

Going from USDM springs to JDM springs, does it lower the car all around by any bit?

Depends on what model of JDM vehicle you are coming from. typically no, unless you have swapped your car.

If you check King Springs Australia, they have a catalog of virtually every chassis & drivetrain combo...I bought springs from them specifically because of their LACK of a "one size fits all" approach. I got an even drop, all around, exactly what I was looking for.

I was looking specifically at a JDM BD, specifcally 1997. I have a buddy from Hong Kong who is swapping out his suspension and asked if I wanted his stock JDM BD springs. So I am wondering if this will give my stock USDM LGT a drop?

Which BD? My GT-B struts and springs (also from a BD) provided enough of a drop that lo-pros 16" tires look "correct."

could you take a picture of your car? I would definitely like to see that.

How much did you pay for your GT-B struts and springs? were they easy to find?

^^ Sorry I missed this thread. Here you go:

Those struts + matching springs. I have 215/40/16's on it, stock size is too high (IMO).

Please ignore rusty rotors, waiting on a new motor. :-(

This guy has some for sale, about what I paid for mine:

Nice thing about Bilsteins is that they can be rebuilt forever, so if you like these (and I REALLY do) then they could be your car's last set.
