oem fog light installation question

for starters, i am working on a 95 bd legacy...

i have been trying to install this fog light kit that the previous owner included when i bought the car. it is an oem kit, but the instructions are a little unspecific in a few areas..

first, to connect the power to the wiring harness under the steering wheel, i need to feed one small black wire through a rubber grommet in the engine bay. is there a trick to getting this wire through with a longer piece of wire or some sort of guide?

and second, i cannot find the holes under or on the bumper where the light brackets are supposed to bolt into...

There is a little grommet by the brake booster that you can pop out and poke through the firewall insulation with a screwdriver. It comes into the cabin just above the gas pedal.

You might have to drill holes in the bumper, in which case you will want to take off the bumper cover to get plumb holes. But you should be able to take off the stock covers then find the holes on the underside of the bumper beam.

awesome, thanks for the help....i now have one more problem

since i was able to feed the power cable for the lights through into the cabin, and plug it all in, my parking lights are permanently on, even without the keys in the ignition. i am going to look some more, because i think i may have put the 8-port clip in the wrong place. the instructions say it is to attach between another black 8-port, but i could only find a white/clear 8 port connector in that area...

Make sure you didn't accidentally flip the parking light switch on top of your steering column...

awesome! i totally feel like a novice now for not noticing that, but i really appreciate your help...to think i was disconnecting my battery for two days because of that. sheesh.
