287,000 miles, replace radiator, hoses summer of 09.

Seem to be OK, started getting fluid loss, dripping from left front rad hose.

Today I replaced hose, and cap, still fills up the coolant bottle and spills fluid out of the bottle.

Did I not bleed the system right? Lots of bubbles coming out of the coolant tube after being parked.

Its getting worse, not better after my work today.

Can anyone advise? Anyone els with a H6 3.0 experiencing the same symptoms?

Thanks

Def sounds like there is an air bubble in the cooling system. The question is whether that is caused by improper filling or some other reason.

I can honestly state it is probably from improper filling - since I filled it!

How can I get the bubbles out?

Or, how do I fill properly?

Thanks

I like to squeeze the upper and lower rad hoses while filling. Pushes bubbles out and I rarely have to add any coolant after the first drive. Alternatively, let the car idle till the fans turn on and the coolant starts cycling, then squeeze the hoses to dislodge bubbles.

This may not help, but here's a link to the coolant service procedure for the '05+ EZ30R version of that engine. http://www.submariner.org/thepno95/Pictures/Subaru/EZ30R%20install/MSA5T0641A166602%20Coolant.pdf I don't know how similar the hose and radiator setup is between the '00-04 H6 cars and the '05+ H6 cars.

All EZ30 motors share basically the same cooling layout. When i replaced my coolant i just ran it with the cap off untill the thermostat opened and the fans cycled for a bit.
