Yep, my buddy TSi+WRX over on LERSOC.com + LegacyGT.com has done it... you use a flexible LED lighting strip and tap it into your parking lights. You still have to bake and separate your headlights, so you might want to do any other mods (blackout, retro-projector) while you're in there. :)

I did it!! I couldnt get inside the headlights so i cut down at the bottom like 24cm. Took the piece that i cut off and sand it clean. Stuck the LEd strip along it. Used a bit of fine sand for more adhesiveness. Put back the bottom piece that i cut off with the led strip stuck on. Fitted perfectly at the bottom just behind the glass. Sealed it shut with silicone paste. Left it to dry. Wired it to the side parking lights. Switched them on and the look awesome. They dont reflect back in the lens and each led can be seen brightly from far. I dont know how to post the pictures help.

You should get a picture.. interested to see what this looks like. Also.. did you not bake your headlights long enough or something to get them open??

Do you have any full pics? Both lights at the same time from a little farther back?
This looks too sweet! I've been wanting to do this for so long but I'm a little nervice about taking the headlights apart...

I like the looks of those. personally i would like to see them center more on the head light portion of the head lamp(closer to the grill). these where a little offset from the center out and sort of whent into the turn lens area. atleast the way they look. please dont get me wrong i love them coodoos to you sir.
Yeah a right up step by step would be nice. i would like to do these aswell but was always a little nervous about baking the head lights in the stove 200-300 degrees? and seemed like some people did it diffrent times too 15-20 min etc.

Oh i f you could where did you get the actual LED strips from? are they a set size,length wise?

I bought the LED strips from an accessory shop in South Africa. They are generally in expensive and last long like 15 dollars per 30cm. Easy to install I'll post the link. Its pretty harf
D to post the DIY coz I didn't have a camera during install. I dint back my lights I cut through at the bottom, stuck the LED strip on the bottom piece, put it back in an sealed it neatly shut with silicone paste.

Guys, this is no different than baking your lights to black out the chrome part (JDM projectors only please) or to do a retro-fit of other projector lenses. You don't have to "bake" your lights either, just leave them out in the sun on a HOT day, or, if it's during winter, find a room that is 65F+ and use a heat gun (and gloves!) to separate the two halves.

Then install your LED strip, and tap it into your sidelight/indicator lights. Reassemble and turn on your headlights/sidelights.

depending on what you buy you dont even have to open up the headlights. this site has all sorts of 12v leds. the link goes strait to thief side mount led strips. meaning you can just rap it around the outside of your headlight and still get the same effect.....
