correct me if im wrong but in 94 is when subaru put a td05 on the ej20t(wrx), does anyone know what size the stock fuel injectors were on this engine with the td05, i know their side feed and can get the color if it would help anyone.

Not sure about the TD05, but Subaru generally matched 440cc injectors with the EJ20G motor. If I had to guess, I would say 480cc injectors with the turbo in question.

The TD05H was used '92-'95. The injector size was 470cc '92-'97. Then they switched to 540cc.

Hmmm I was going to say 440cc as those are the injectors I have in my mid-90s EJ20G intake assembly. They are gray side feeds.

IDK, the manual says 470cc. Part number 16611AA100 for A-D models.

edit: depends on what pressure they are tested at, The USA & Japan measures them at 3 bar (rail pressure) whereas NZ/Australia measures them at 2.5 bar. Hence the lower numbers for the same part.

No wonder for all the confusion. Generally speaking, the gray side feeds are the basic early model injectors (here we call them 440s) and the yellow injectors are the slightly newer STI injectors which I guess flow a little more, but are still sometimes labelled as 440s.

thanks guys for the help, i wanna put the td05 on the tleg with the revtronix chip and i needed to know what the size was to order the stage 2 chip, anyone think that i will max the injectors out with eh about 14-17 psi?

Yep
here in Aus the early grey side-feeds are 380cc
the yellow side feeds (both phase1 <'99 and pahse2 >'99) are 440cc
Pink pahse2 side feeds are 550cc
(MY01-02) blue/ grey top-feeds are ~440cc aswell

but isnt the lower cc due to the fact that ur running a lower fuel rail pressure as said earlier in the post ? so my tleg came with a aftermarket fuel regulator how many cc could i get out of the injectors from the ej20t because i have no idea what or if there are any issues by raising fuel pressure( i do have a walbro fp), because i dont wanna run the chance of having a injector stick by leaving them to spec and id like to find out what flow rate at what fuel pressure i can get em to so i dont have to play around with it and every time i change the cc of em have to send the chip back to get reprogrammed still kinda new to everything turbo :)

The cars themselves aren't running lower fuel rail pressure, just the quoted flow rate is based on lower test pressure. Really the only way to know what you have right now or get is to find a repair shop that can flow test and clean them. This is a good idea anyways when putting used injectors into your car - they can become clogged over the years.

Although mines a 94 wrx I'm guessing its fairly similar. It says about taking the fuel rail out? Surely they can be removed without taking the rails out.I'm also not worried about surge, because i will tune it for wastegate boost unless the throttle is farther than about 50% or so, and if the throttle is that far down, the tranny will shift to a lower gear. In first gear there is not enough exhaust energy to generate surge. According the compressor map 16psi @ 2500 RPM is still to the right of surge. Looks good.

I'm gonna chuck a spanner in the works here, afaik, we test at 3 bar also, but at 80% duty, not 100%.
BUT, i don't know if the above is correct, so don't quote me. I repeat; i don't know if the above is correct, so don't quote me
What i do know, is that in NZ, and i assume OZ and the UK, there is no debate whatsoever on the size, down here, Grey top's are 380cc, and yellows 440cc. Considering the availability of material and JDM cars in these countries, vs that of in the states, i'm siding with the home team :p

Well greys at 80% = 380cc, and 80% x 1.25 = 100%, so 380cc x 1.25 (to give 100% duty) = 475cc.
And yellows at 80% = 440cc, and at 100% = 440 x 1.25 = 550cc.
So both basically what was quoted above.
