I think your question is "what turbo comes with the 2005 STI," right?

That would be the VF39.

The 2005 US STI uses the EJ257 motor, not EJ25.

Are you bolting this turbo to a stock ej25 or have you modified it? Our ej25's cannot hold more than 8-10psi of boost.

Is this motor in your Legacy? Also, there's a difference between max psi that the engine will take, and last a year vs. what it will run reliably.

I hate to do this, but I recommend going to nasioc.com, becoming a member and asking in their "factory 2.5L Turbo Powertrain" forum. There are thousands on that website who have modified their STI's, and would know the answer.
