Ok. So with all the information that has been floating around recently about H6's, I thought I would see if I can't gain a small foot hold on the issue. I currently have a '99 BK with the Gen 2 EJ22 and a 5MT. The "plan" would be for a EZ30D running a EMS Hydra N2, cams if they can be found, a port and polish, and balance. It would be a daily driver, with a few spirited bursts, and MAYBE, a little autoX.

Here is what I know about the EZ30D....(Not EZ30R)
Has a bore of 89.2mm.
Has a single exhaust port per bank of cylinders.
Has roughly 215 Hp stock.
Has about 220lbs/ft of Torque stock.
Only offered in 4EAT trim.
Not many mod parts.

Here is what I would like to know.....
Could you use EJ20 internals on the EZ30D? I believe that the EJ20 has a 93mm bore (slightly bore out the EZ30?.... Like a EJ20 with 2 more cylinders?...)
What other ways are there (ECU wise) to get around the 4EAT engine programing(ignition timing etc.) I could be just making a mountain out of a mole hill here.....
What performance parts are out there that might work? EJ20 stuff?....

Any other tips, or insight would be helpful. That includes the "what are you thinking kid" answers. lol I am just trying to see what is out there in the way of a swap to the EZ30D. It is pretty close to the EJ20 in power, but without the turbo complications(warm up/cool down). Not to mention a little more torque. I know that the EJ20 has WAY more potential for big numbers, I would just like a little more punch around the commute. haha Thanks again.

Oh, and a light weight flywheel if one can be found.... I believe that would be more transmission dependent..... So EJ22 light weight flywheel?....

Syms makes some good stuff for the RS30 (BEE), including a tuned ECU. None of it is cheap though....

And if I remember correctly, there was a 6spd M/T RS30. I may be wrong though. I'm tired and don't feel like looking it up to verify.

You should hit up Keltik. Has a BH with an MT equipped EZ30...I think it's the R model but he's a good source of info.
